Thank you so much dahlia for your prompt feedback, greatly appreciated. The cases you have told me about other's PCC issue lighten up more my burden. Have you elaborate all your work history in the biographic data during the application process?

I did at DS-157 (question # 12).

Hi,

This is Dahlia using cjmc page....

We discussed about the need of filling out the DS-230, the list from the US Gov. page, but it clearly explains that this form is required for IMMIGRANT Visa Applicant only. So I did not fill it out, just brought a copy of it. I guess i forgot to ask that to the CO to clarify it.

Maybe VJ's had some input about it.

Congratulations!!! Got your visa approved too. I am just wondering how many days we can actually check the Visa/Passport status.

The DS-230 part 1 is listed in the USEM instructions letter for the K-1 visa as a REQUIRED form, but only PART ONE!

To date it has not always been asked for at the interview by the CO, I think because it was only added a month or two ago they are not demanding it... YET. But it is listed with all the other DS forms so for sure it needs to be completed and brought to the interview.

Hi,

Please find below link that I found and have it handy with me just in case I will be ask to provide a Abu Dhabi Police Clearance.

However this doesn't guarantee that it will be accepted.

**********************************************************************************

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9666#docs

Police certificates may be obtained by any person, regardless of nationality, by personally appearing at the Central Police Headquarters located in the emirate of residence or former residence. When appearing to request a police certificate, the applicant should provide recent photographs, a letter from the requesting authority, the date of residence in the emirate, and their passport.

Not available by mail. Post recommends that consular officers waive the general requirement to obtain police certificates unless the applicant lives in the UAE.

Correct, police certificates are not available from certain countries (except in person) so the CO will waive that requirement during the interview.

I'm impressed, Hank! I am now convinced you know Tagalog!

By the way, how can an applicant know if a particular country is included in the "waived list" for Police certificates?

Good day to all!!!

Oh I miss VJ!!! It's been a while. I was worried too, about the Police Clearance / Good Conduct. The consul is very much aware that once you are out of the country / UAE, you can no longer get any clearance and they never asked about it.

I did a lot of research….. I'm telling you I could almost get a good sleep but since I found some helpful links… got my peace of mind after that =).

So no worries…. good luck

How are you two doing!? Haven't seen you on VJ in awhile...

All I know is DOS has it listed as the administrative center:

Dubai is the administrative center for the Northern Emirates and maintains records for all the Emirates outside of Abu Dhabi.
