Now that my case is "in transit" as of 11/18/2013 to Cambodia, can I file DS-160 in advance or i need to wait for Packet 3?

I call NVC and they told me it's send out to Cambodia. What's odd is that they said they do not have a tracking number. Any of you who got the tracking number, is it from NVC or tracking number from your consulate?

Also when I call DoS, they said the file is still with NVC and NVC have not send to consulate.. just odd

If you actually read page 48 of this post/thread, it's written clearly how to track your package from NVC to Consulate.

Please take time to read.

I did read pg 48 and i was the one who provide the link. I thought NVC will give us a tracking number. but i thought it wrong. I went to DHL tracking site and makeup a tracking number as EXP17NOV2013A and EXP18NOV2013A, date range from 11/16 - 11/19 and select Cambodia. None found. Am i doing something wrong?

Maybe it's too early to track...

Oh sorry, didn't pay attention to who the poster was. You track it right but I think you need to wait a bit or was the file sent earlier than when you call? Not sure. Hope other VJ-er can enlighten you further

Ok, I found 2 DHL from DoS but not sure which one could be mine. I search EXP 15 NOV 2013A and EXP 18 NOV 2013A. Odd was sometime when I search those two reference, it's not found and sometime it found.

Maybe someone can guess better than me which one is mine. NVC said they shipped my package on the 18th. On screenshot A, EXP 15 NOV 2013A was shipped on the 18th and EXP 18 NOV 2013A shipped today the 19th. NVC receive NOA2 on the 15th. Do you think mine was the EXP 15 NOV 2013A since the ship date was 11/18/2013

congratulations on your approval guys smile.png

can you please post how everything went on and what questions they asked?

thanks smile.png

Thanks @ivanalex1980

As far as questions go, the CO asked:

My job since it is a bit interesting smile.png

Why did I decide to get married

His age and my age

What do I like about my fiancé

When and where did we meet?

When did we physically meet for the first time?

How was my trip there last December?

How did his parents react when they met me

It was a very casual interview for me and I think the reason why the convo got longer is because the consul and I were smiling and laughing with each other. Sorta like a casual talk smile.png

No further evidence requested from me. What I noticed though is that if you are not confident with your answers, they will ask more questions and more evidence. Like some applicants, they were asked photos, divorce decrees, snail mails (cards and letters), emails, chat logs, pay slips etc.

The interview is easy for as long as you know the details of your relationship and your fiancé. I actually enjoyed talking to the consul. Funny I was so nervous and had sleepless nights only to find out it was such a breeze...

Hope you get your visa soon. Good luck!

Congratulations!! That was quick. I still have to wait till March 19 for interview. Cuba takes long for interviews

Thanks @liz&Ivan! Yea, it was pretty quick for us. Roughly 3 months from start to finish. Sucks that you have to wait until March 19th but hang in there, almost at the end!!!

Hello every one

is it possible that USCIS sent the packet to NVC and they just did not update my profile on their site saying that the packet is sent to NVC?

has any one experienced this? sad.png

thanks muuuch

Hi again @ivanalex1980, based on the threads that we have read here, TSC gives you notice when your petition gets sent to NVC. CSC doesn't do so that is why a lot of us call NVC or DoS to follow up. But right now, it takes about 3-5 weeks for TSC. Who knows next week could be your lucky week, or maybe as soon as tomorrow... :)

When we were following up on our case #, we contacted DoS, little to no waiting time or NVC 15 minutes to their closing hours...

Question: Is NVC and DoS are different from each other? I call DoS and they said the case is still with NVC and it had not been forward. I call NVC they said the case been shipped out to Cambodia and now it's out of their handling. So, who should I contact, Cambodia Consular?

Ok, I found 2 DHL from DoS but not sure which one could be mine. I search EXP 15 NOV 2013A and EXP 18 NOV 2013A. Odd was sometime when I search those two reference, it's not found and sometime it found.
