I got my NO2 a day before you and am wondering the same thing. We will probably get it around the same time. Im also curious as to once we receive this number does that mean we are automatically able to set an interview date and do the medical or do we have to do we have to wait for something else prior to setting those important dates....

ps. I have gone through some of the posts on here and it seems that those who have been approved at texas wait about 2 weeks prior to getting their number from NVC, which is wayyyyyyy faster then many who have been approved at CSC. Good luck to you and congrats on your NO2 :D

Yes TCS is faster everyone from there is getting their case number within 2 weeks. Once you have your number you can go ahead and do your interview appointment. Oce the number is assigned they send it to your consulate withon 3 days. I am so excited!!!

Does this mean we can make an appointment prior to receiving packet 3 and 4? I thought the embassy sets an interview date for you. So if we receive our case number by two weeks does this mean there is a possibility to have our loved ones here before the new year? Im super excited as well :DDDDDDD

Does this mean we don't need to wait for packet 1,2 or 3 like the old days? and when do we need to fill out ds-260?

Does anyone know whether copy of NOA2 plus case number are both required by the US Embassy so they can issue a request letter to the Japan Embassy requesting a police certificate? Or is a copy of NOA2 alone enough to obtain the request letter for police clearance?

We finally got our NOA2 tonight! "Only" 90 days after NOA1. Can someone please point me to the best explanation of the next steps - what is the latest info on when to start calling NVC, how long is it taking and what happens when we get our London case number? Do we then call the embassy for the medical appointment or do we wait for instructions from the embassy?

Congratulations! 90 days is still 2 months shy of the official estimated wait times so pat yourselves on the back for getting approved early!! Texas has been taking about 2 weeks to send apps to NVC once approved according to other VJers, and you may call DOS after 2 weeks to follow up if you have not received notification in the mail. Check out this thread which I found to be most helpful:
