fighting/arguing with your foreign lover

My wife, who is the foreign national, did say to me once or twice, "... I'll just go back home because lots of men like me there". Usually these were the culmination of a miscommunication or misunderstanding with her imperfect knowledge of English and my inability to explain it in simpler terms.

She's actually said a number of things that has hurt me and some of it was unintentional. I know I've said some things to hurt her, too. However, intellectually I know this stems from a cultural difference. I've actually thought, "Why am I going through this?" since I've been depressed when I should be a happy newlywed, but I've never actually said that to her. I'm just going through an adjustment and some cultural conflict with her. Ironically, it seems that it's more difficult for me and less difficult for her. She has lately commented on the fact that I look really sad a lot.

Anyways, I'd much rather do harm to myself than to ever say something so harmful and careless such as that to my SO.

If one cannot recognize the limits of things you say or do in a relationship (of any sort, never mind one with your lover), they shouldn't be considering marriage with anyone, just having casual relationships to get the basics down. It doesn't matter how upset you get. Know your limits, have respect for your SO. If respect isn't a two way street by marriage time, you need to re-think who you're with.

Ever feel like why did I bring you here? about your foreign love after they come live with you in the US especially after arguments because of stupid misunderstandings. and mean words are exchanged similar to"go back where you came from" and "they would never treat me like this where I am from"?

Because if that has happen to you, i would like to know how that makes you feel and how u deal with it?
