I called DOS and they were extremely nice (no wait time) and said that my file does no show as received. She suggested I wait til the 12th to try NVC and see if they'll do an inquiry to see where it is located.

However, when she looked up my file it said it was "sent out on July 9th for post-decision activity" -- I'm assuming since this is the date of the NOA2 that is what it's referring to and *NOT* that it was really sent somewhere else. Anyone know?

When I called NVC they said to wait 8 weeks so I'm not hopeful that they'll be helpful. DOS did say that sometimes people's files get stuck at the bottom of a pile of boxes for months because new boxes get put on top of theirs. However, she said that NVC *should* be willing to do an inquiry when I call on the 12th.

It's honestly maddening to see others get shipped off within a week and ours sits for a month. It seems like THIS part should be as easy as first in, first out since they're just reshipping them, right?

Thanks,

Bridget

Our file was apparently sent to and archiving center and not to the NVC. It was only after months of phone calls to the NVC and USCIS that we posted a comment on here. LeftCoastLady suggested contacting our local senators office. My wife did this and they got on the case really quick. They are able to speak directly to the right people. Eventually the USCIS re approved our petition and it got sent to the NVC.

I would highly recommend getting on the case asap. As we found the months just drift past and nothing happens. Also the petition has an expiry date, I think its about 3 or 4 months after its approved by the USCIS.

Good luck, I hope you get this resolved soon.
