FYI, I used USPS EMS to mail some documents to China, tracked in US and China, received in 5 days, no issues. Cost $ 94.00 ouch.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

That much? I think I was typically paying around $30 to send documents to myself from my Online Mailbox in the US to my residence in China. I think I sent them International Economy. It used to take longer than 5 days, closer to 10-14 days. You must have sent them Express mail because if I recall FedEX/UPS was about that much to send 3-Day International.

$30?

My fiancé sent me document with a FedEx priority mail for only $15 (employee's price, so normal price perhaps around $20) arrived in three days (business days)

We have been back from China a year and a half so it might have been cheaper than $30 but I remember sending it USPS/EMS was cheaper than FedEx. You are referring US to Indonesia? I think it does depend on what country you are sending it to.
