Please help. I have had the assistance for my I-129F petition using an immigration attorney. Now, my petition was just approved and is now at the NVC.

I am confident once my petition goes to the consulate for the interview with my fiancee everything will run smoothly. I have paid an attorney his fee to take me up to the whole process in being approved for the Fiancee Visa.

Now the Green card processing once she comes here to the USA. This attorney wants an additional fee (which I knew), but it is very high. I am considering, seeing the only thing left is the processing of the greencard right after we marry to go with RapidVisa on line. They advertise $375 to do all the paperwork, etc. Oh, there are no children involved. Can anyone let me know if they heard of this company or can they recommend a company just to finish out the process of the Green card processing. Me and my fiancee, soon to be wife, are not comfortable doing the green card forms and paperwork. I know you make one little mistake, dont sign something, misunderstand the question it will delay it for quite sometime. So I prefer someone to finish this process out for me. Now I have read the reviews on this Rapidvisa and they seem legitimate.

My immigration attorney wants around $970 to do the Green card processing once we are married. I paid much money initially for his fee to get me to this point not to mention the uscis fee, the interview fee, the medical exam fee, then when i apply for the greencard the $1070 USCIS fee then an additional $970 for the attorney to do all the paperwork. I just can not afford this second fee from the attorney.

So, If anyone has any ideas, I would truly appreciate it. But, please be advised me and my fiancee will not allow us to attempt to do this on our own to save an attorneys fee in fear it will delay things with a simple mistake.

I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks ahead of time VJ participants.

Do it yourself, brother. As long as you and your bride-to-be had no previous violation of the US immigration law, or any other legal problems that will complicate the green card process, you should consider doing it yourself. It is quite straight forward. Remember, you are not filing an work visa petition for a rocket scientist to come over. ;)

Sorry brother, this process is way too long as it is, there are still many forms to be completed, as I said, forget to cross a T or dot an i this process will be delayed even longer. This I see in these forms, many people doing it them selves and messing up and having to have their petition delayed even much longer. Thanks for the advice anyways

Not that hard to do. I have done AOS for myself, my wife and a few other people. Just read the questions carefully and answer all the questions. Don't try to do it all in one sitting. Break it down and gather the paperwork. If you are organized, you can do it yourself. However, if there is an underlying immigration issue, get a lawyer.

In the end, it is your decision. Best of luck.

And who is to say an immigration lawyer wont make a mistake? After all,no one is perfect. Unless you have a criminal record or some past immigration problems,I will suggest you follow the guides on VJ and do it yourself. Your fiancee cant work until she gets her EAD,so let her arrange and prepare the documents for the AOS. That should keep her busy. I know handling all the paperwork can be overwhelming, but it is really easy once you follow the guide and it will save you from spending money for a lawyer. If you however insist on a lawyer,I can be your lawyer and collect the money...just kidding. lol. All the best

This is a DIY site, so most people here have done it themselves and probably won't have a recommendation on any companies offering to help for large fees. Your case is not complicated, so it doesn't really need a lawyer or a form-filling company. Read through this guide> http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

Look at the required forms and if you still think you do not want to file the forms yourself, then go ahead and pay someone else to fill out the forms for you. You still have to provide all the information and evidence to a lawyer or company, and lawyers and those companies can make mistakes too. So, keep all that in mind before you decide.

You've come to the wrong place for this question. The majority, if not all, of the people on here are doing it themselves and so will not be able to recommend a lawyer or anything for you.

Also, I've been frequenting these forums for about a year now, and I've seen a fair amount of posts about RFEs because of lawyer(s) screwing up to confidently tell you that you're not guaranteeing anything by paying someone else to do this for you. And this is not even counting the instances where somebody sends in all the required documents, and they STILL get an RFE requesting the exact same documents that were already sent.

As posted above, there is nothing to suggest that a lawyer wont make a mistake and end up causing you delays further down the line.

Before I filed for my K1 I looked into having an attorney do it for me, and basically you're paying them to fill the forms out for you...they still ask you to provide all of the information (as they don't have it) so it saves you a couple of days of looking at the forms and doing a bit of research yourself.

I would advise you to do it yourself, I have already filled in all of the forms required for AoS ready for when I move next month. The guys on this website offer excellent advice and will help on any areas of concern...and as mentioned above, your partner cant work for 3+ months so it'll give them something to do! :)

You don't need an attorney dear. Your case is straight forward! Here is my story, I come to USA in 2011 on a j1 visa and went out of status seven months later. Stayed illegal, worked illegal, married in February 2013, filed for AOS in April 2013. I did all the paper work by myself and on august 05 2013 @ 1pm my green card was APPROVED ON THE SPOT. We have a huge age difference, I am 27 years black, him 56 years white. Just waiting for the card in the mail now. The lawyer will screw you up & take all your money for nothing. Your case looks much easier than mine. The interview took 5minutes for me the beneficiary, 10 minutes for the petitioner because they separate everybody in Boston. The lady was very friendly and only asked about 3 questions. My case is considered complicated ,but I went through in less than 4 months. dancin5hr.gif
