Hi Everyone,

I upgraded my wife's petition from F2A o CR1 and case was approved by CSC on July 29 2013. I called NVC today to know if my case got into NVC or not. Surprisingly, NVC person told me that I have to wait for 8 weeks for USCIS to send paper to NVC. I have no idea why it takes 8 weeks to print the approved petition and mail it. Are they using horses to mail the postage as we used to do in late 18th centuries?

I field our petition on February 2012 and upgraded to CR1 on 2nd week of July 2013. We are very thankful that CSC approved our petition as soon as we upgraded it. Its been more than 18 months we have been separated, this waiting is really killing me. :(

I will really appreciate any thoughts or comments regarding this

Thank you

Just because they say 8 weeks doesn't mean it takes 8 weeks. Thats their standard answer to everyone.

They bundle the petitions and like to send all together.

I suggest you go over to the NVC filers thread and read post #1 and #2 while u are waiting and start gathering stuff. Because it takes a few weeks to get to NVC then you have to wait for case#.

Congratulations n your approval you still have some time to go,

There's a lot of work at the service center , to be done, AFTER approval.

Once that's done, then it is prepped for shipping with other casefiles.

This is an ongoing process, also there are queues in this bit, so expect a bit of a wait - is very rare a casefile leaves the service center the same day it was approved.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
