So my wife had an interview in Aug of last year. she was told to provide a new affidavit, and then was in AP for almost a year. few months back they asked her to redo her Police certificate and Medical which was completed in MAY. then in July they asked us to send in her passport to the embassy.

embassy received her passport on July 22, 2013. I have been checking the status on CEAC and usually it would be touched and shows still in AP..

today I saw this message popped up can anyone tell me if this is would be a mistake.. I used to be able to call the London Embassy and get a code to send them an email and they would respond.. now that has been changed and outsourced.

I sent in an email from the visa contact form and Have yet to receive a reply.

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Expiring Soon
Immigrant Visa Case Number: LND20 Case Creation Date: 27-Mar-2012 Status Updated Date: 06-Aug-2013
Section 203(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act requires that your registration be canceled and any petition approved on your behalf canceled, if you do not apply for your immigrant visa within one year of being advised to do so.

You were advised of this requirement over 1 year ago, but we have not received a response from you since then. As a result, your application for a visa has been canceled and any petition approved on your behalf has also been canceled.

Your application may be reinstated and any petition revalidated if, within one year, you can establish that your failure to pursue your immigrant visa application was due to circumstances beyond your control. Please provide a written statement to the Embassy or Consulate outlining the circumstances beyond your control and noting that you still wish to pursue this visa petition.

I say it's a data error, however,

you can get some relief at NVC with a supervisor.

Yes, I said NVC. Remind the supervisor that it's a data error ..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

NVC stated that since our case is at the embassy they do not receive any updates. I have to contact the embassy.

Before I used to be able to call the London Embassy and they would provide you with code to use in an email and then get a response. Now they don't have that either.

I am hoping and pretty sure its data error since the embassy have been communicating with us and as late as July they asked for her passport.

Just wanted to see if anyone else have gone thru the same mess.

That seems odd. If you want, I can move your post to the UK forum to see if it is a country issue/ how to contact the embassy?

It is the embassy that is a mess right now. You are caught in their changes.

They switched on July 26 to an online visa payment and courier scheduling system, which must happen before the interview. Many were caught in the middle. They had paid the old way over the phone, but when they interviewed last week, the previous courier scheduling done at the embassy had been eliminated as of that week. Those people are being called individually to work out the delivery. The call center was discontinued at the same time to get the email code as you described. There is the new "contact us" online form.

I too think you have a data error and they haven't had time to respond because they are mopping up the mess that always happens when there is a big procedural change. Their calls and contacts have probably doubled or tripled since last week. Unfortunately many of them are frivolous --"did you get my medical results?" "How long will it take me to get my instruction letter because my NOA2 was approved yesterday?" and it keeps them from dealing with those who have actual issues like yours where you have finally finished AP just in time to be caught in an automated system changeover. I think you may have to allow them more time to get back to you, but they will sort it.

Nich,, thanks for your input. I did realize with all the changes to the phone system and courier. I might be just that.

I will be patiently waiting like i did for a year or so I guess..

Tomorrow will be exactly 20 business days that have had my wife's passport. So hopefully we will get it soon.
