Hi Guys, well its a while since I've been here, my journey has not been without its sticky bits, but I've got to this now and I've got an RFE. I'm planning on sending in some affidavits to help support our marriage and I'm wondering if they can be from family as well as friends and, as far as I can see from USCIS they dont need to be notarised, I'd appreciate some feed back if possible, I know there are posts here on the subject and I've trawled on here and other sites but I havent' yet found the answer to my questions. Thanks a lot !

Well... I sent in copies of a lease, utility bills, insurance docs, bank account, photographs and letters to a shared address, copy of drivers licence and all I could find to show that we were living together as a couple, we've had a rocky road together and dont have as much documentary proof as we'd like to have sent but it was all that we had so I sent it off and hoped for the best and now this....so its back to the drawing board, beginning with the affidavits and we're going to get a will drawn up and possibly some life insurance and power of attorney and hope that this will assuage them, I'm not afraid of a Stokes as our marriage was made in good faith and despite our problems, we're working them out and want to stay together.

It looks like you sent the major ones - did you send full bank account statement with transactions at least one per quarter covering the 1 year 9 months. I don't think that lack of affidavits did this RFE - affidavits are not great evidence - at least that has been the past experience thus far. What actually did the RFE letter sought from you!

By the way affidavits can be from any US citizen and don't need to be notarized.

Did you send joint taxes? Some people sent the same as you and got no RFE. Seems to be hit or miss.
