It is strange but after I broke my humerus I didn't want to do any exercises involving my core and inner muscles for at least 7 months. I have got back on track with my core muscles these last few months thanks goodness. I am now working on my fixed humerus.

Did you have to get surgery for it? My husband has had 4 knee surgeries from sports related injuries and he only runs on trails because it is less stress on the knees compared to running on paved roads. Injuries can be quite debilitating and recovering from them is even tougher specially since it cost so much to get medical help here in the US. I've never had to worry about not having insurance in the Philippines. No one has it there. If you get sick you go to the doctor and you pay out of pocket and it is never as expensive. Here, illness is a fortuity best prevented by keeping healthy, unless you have a lot of money or have really good insurance coverage.

Sein oder Nichtsein, das ist heir die Frage.

It was actually the exact opposite for me. I used to work out 3-4 times per week... light running, stationary bike, machines whose names I couldn't give you, and swimming. I don't know about core strength, but I sure felt better, and I think it even helped the old "war wound" (I have a bad shoulder from surgery I had when I was six).

Shortly after our NOA1, though, I spent two weeks in the UK with my fiance. When I came back, I just couldn't drag myself out anymore. I went once, thinking I just need to get myself back there and it would click into place (I even "treated" myself to a new bathing suit), but nah, didn't happen.

Funny thing is, we just got the NOA2 last night... and now that I think about it, I kind of feel like going back :) Got a new bathing suit to break in after all ;)

Yes. The surgery cost $60k! I have pins in my shoulder and an ugly scar.

If I'm healthy enough to exercise, I'm healthy enough NOT to, si man.

Love your thinkin' TBone!! rofl.gif

I go 3-4 times a week, for 2 hours each time (30 mins cardio, which I hate, and 90 mins on the resistance weight stuff, which I enjoy!)

I'm in my 60's with thyroid stuff going on, and find it really difficult to lose weight...So, if I can't be skinny, I can be chunky and fit!!!rolleyes.gif

Old and Grumpy....But an American Citizen!!!
