Hey there!

Myself and my husband just filed for adjustment of status, I had read online that the EAD can take up to three months. I was just wondering how soon people are getting their work permits? I'm just keen to get back to work so want to hurry the process along if I can!

Any help/comments are appreciated!!!

Yes, 2-3 months is typical for EAD approval, but it can vary, and it's even possible that you'll have your adjustment of status interview before even getting an EAD.

About the only thing you can do that *might* help accelerate the process is to do a "walk-in" biometrics as soon as your get your biometrics appointment letter. It's not clear whether that really speeds things up but it doesn't hurt.

Congressional expedites are possible only in exceptional cases.

Thanks for the response! I saw a few people posting on here who got their EAD around 30-40 days after filing so I'm crossing my fingers/toes/everything.

With regards to the walk in biometrics... Do I need to wait till I get the letter? How do I find where I need to go?

Sorry if that's a stupid question... I don't really know too much about this whole process and it took about 95% of my brainpower just to get the forms/package all together and keep some of my sanity ha!!

30-40 days is optimistic, I really think you should plan on 90 days.

You do need to wait for the biometrics letter, you must bring it to an ASC. You can go to any ASC, there's a finder on the USCIS website: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=ASC

Having filed the application, the hard part is over assuming you don't get any RFEs. It's just a matter of waiting now, you'll have to be patient.
