My parents see only 1 or 2 % interest rate on their cd that they own. You have a generation that saved and you steal from them by a low interest rate offered by the government.

The FED is a private organization and decides its own interest rate. The FED is attempting to stabilize the economy by buying up lots of debt to artificially lower interest rates. These low interest rates in turn are encouraging the purchase of everything from commodities to shares on the stock market, which incidentally helps to re-inflate many of your parents stock, portfolios that may have lost out in the 2008 crash. The government and by extension anybody dependent upon the government for an income also benefit from this arrangement. Think of the Trillions of dollars that American's have left invested in hedge funds, etc that stand to loose out if the FED decided to cease what it is currently doing.

These businesses have been around for a long time and they make money. Their business model has been good for their investors and that is who they worry about...well, them and the customer. There business has reduced Cinammon's role to almost -0- contact with customers unless she is the drive thru girl and ven then you may only hear her voice. Otherwise she is taking fries out of the grease when the buzzer tells her to.

Why do you need to figure a direction? Silly. I believe what I believe. I am not going to change what I believe because of something you say. I know what direction I take. whenever possible I come down on the side of "individual liberty and individual responsibility" Simple. I use that for every issue. It is why I favor concealed carry AND gay marriage. The FAIR TAX and legalization of marijuana. Reduction of government AND pro choice. 1. No. I would prefer NO minimum wage set by government. In fact we have NO minimum wage because the REAL minimum wage is whatever an employer can get an illegal alien to do the job for. The uncontrolled situation of illegals means there really is no minimum wage set by government. It is set by the market and the lowest common denominator are illegal aliens. We need to SLAM employers colsed that exploit illegals and violate laws. Wages would then raise above the legal minimum all by themselves. Take 11 million low wage illegals out of the equation and see what happens when they have to be replaced with LEGAL workers. We will not have to deport anyone. They will leave when the economic incentive to be here vanishes. The MARKET always controls the price of things, including wages ALWAYS. When does it not? NEVER. The question is whether it is a "black" market or a "white" market (no racism implied) If you take the illegals out of the equation, everyone's wages will increase. EVERYONE. As minimum wage increases, people at higher levels will demand higher wages also. If you make 2 times minimum wage now, you are not going to sit still for the burger flipper making as much as you do now...are you? when burger flippers can demand $22 per hour...what will a nurse make? Illegals are a drug on the market, they drag everyone down and are...illegal... and being exploited fro profit. NO ONE should be OK with that.

Minimum wage should not even be discussed until effective means are in place to eliminate exploitation of humans for profit. Give it a year after that and we'll talk again. All the rest is BULLSH*T

2. YES. Should it? No. Not entirely. The government needs to protect the citizens, That should be their role. Eliminating illegal aliens is part of that. Establishing work safety rules or monitoring the industry in doing so is good. The National Electric Code, for example, is written by the NFPA, a private industry organization. Many localities adopt this as a standard. Good idea. Laws to protect against discrimination, to allow access for disabled people, to protect the environment from pollution...YES, you read that right! I believe in individual rights as long as they do not hurt others...pollution hurts others. You have the right to make all the trash you want but you cannot throw it over the fence into MY yard. Clean it yourself! I work in construction and have all my life. I have no problem with OSHA, for example. I think the rules need to be frequently reviewed as they can sometimes be ridiculous, but the intent is good. Family and Medical Leave Act? Good idea! This country was built on families and they should be encouraged. In Ukraine a woman can collect her salary for 3 years after having a child.They had 22 million people killed 2 generations ago and still have a wacko woman to man ratio. Looks are a personal matter, of course. It is an area I hope we will always be allowed to discriminate on. I would hate to see us head to random drawings for spouses. Asian women come up way too short (pun intended) in the leg department for my taste. High heels are nice but should not exceed 1/2 the length of the legs they are attached to! I like tall, big round eyed, light skinned women that really enjoy glamming up and looking like women. Give me dark hair and electric blue eyes! I am in Ukraine now, I always know when I am in Ukraine. 5 floors up I can hear the "click, click" of heels on the stones and I swear you can smell the perfume. My eyes are popping out everywhere! OMG!

The Ukrainian double standard can take some getting used to. The man needs to worship the woman and never look at anyone else, but the woman needs to be attractive to everyone around. If other men are not flirting and hitting on her...she must have lost it! So if you get jealous over her being noticed in a crowd, you better stay away from them because they crave that stuff. I swear it is the result of not nearly enough men in the society, then half of the men are drunks...and the women HATE drunks because they are worthless as men. They want a man that WORKS and makes money for the family and takes care of them in bed, and they mean turn 'em over and knock them into next week! A drunk is no good for any of that.

Alla has much more than one credit card, OMG I think she has all of them! But she never carries a balance on any of them. She even uses dept. store cards to get addl. discounts, then goes straight to the Customer Service desk and makes the payment before she leaves the store! She doesn't buy anything that isn't at least 40% off. She carries around a purse full of coupons. She looks at shoes..."They are $80 but with this, this, this, and my store card discount I can get them for...$24.50. Almost FREE!" She has one that gets mileage points and we use that for everything, groceries, gasoline, anything...then pay the bill every month. It always gets us at least one free ticket to Ukraine.

She was very independent when I met her and I can say that her lifestyle in general is not better here. She has more clothes and shoes because they are cheaper here, and you can argue the virtues of a house over a flat (garage door opener for one) but otherwise, she was doing very well in Ukraine. Once she learned the banking and credit system and how to drive...she was good to go.
