Holtsville, NY for InfoPass and I-551 stamp, tip for New Yorkers

Hi all,

Just thought I'd let NYers know that if you are having trouble getting an InfoPass appointment (I couldn't get one for weeks), Holtsville, Long Island is a great option. It's REALLY far, around 2 hours from Brooklyn and involves 2 LIRR trains and a taxi. But I arrived 40 minutes early, they took me within 5 minutes, they stamped my passport with no trouble (I am going on a trip to Canada and my I-797 receipt is about to expire, it will have been more than one year since applying to remove conditions during the time I am on my trip).

So, overall I was in and out of the office in less than 15 minutes. Great, friendly service in Holtsville.

Updating this thread in case anyone goes up that way.

I got the InfoPass during one of my late night waitings on the USCIS Appointments page. Took a while, but got one in the early afternoon. This place is far from anywhere except if you live in Suffolk County. The traffic on I-495 has to be seen to be believed!! However, when you get there they take you at your exact time. The Officer was friendly, took my finger prints, face scan and authenticated me.

She knew all about the delays of the I-751. She said thats all she and two other colleagues do all day is stamp the I-551.

After she stamped the passport, she specifically said when entering the USA, to not panic and show the CPB Officer the Passport stamp, the expired letter AND the expired Green Card. She seemed very happy that we submitted the N-400 as well.
