Yes, you need to look at YOUR consulate's reviews, because MENA countries are known for young men shopping for older females and visa fraud. People from other countries just can't compare to theirs.

the most important issue here is the legitimacy of the marriage you are about to enter and not the age difference. My wife is 13 yrs older than me and we are happily married here in USA and shes a USA citizen while am African.

Yes but equally important is also that first step in convincing the CO that you indeed have a viable relationship. Of course that is if one intends to immigrate to the US.

My wife is 11.5 years older than I am (exactly, weirdly enough...)

She got her visa with no trouble, but I petitioned for her. In other words, I, the younger one, petitioned for her, the older one.

We had lived together in Mongolia (not for eight years, but for more like two.)

I think the fact that I have such a good relationship with my stepkids, and pictures proving it, helped. Do you have pictures of all of you as a family?

What would Xenu do?

Again, MENA has particular issues of its own. Fraud is more common in an older female petitioning a much younger male from MENA. You can't compare to all other countries outside of MENA. There is no comparison. The fact that the OP has had the relationship for eight years is positive and should be very helpful to show legitimate proof. However, minimizing the fact of the age difference is not appropriate in the case of MENA, as that is one of the key fraud factors. This thread should be posted in MENA so people who are more familiar can answer, but I think the OP has received lots of good answers.

This isn't my personal experience, but I've heard that in cases like yours, it is especially important for the younger partner to demonstrate his/her love and commitment for the older one (even more so than normal). I don't think the age difference cannot be overcome, but it can mean that you (the younger one) need to be prepared for questions about it, and have ready and thoughful answers to things like: why do you love her? How have you addressed and how are you planning to address the age difference with your families, friends, and nosy strangers? etc. In cases where the woman is older, it seems like there's sometimes a presumption that the younger guy is taking advantage, which means the onus is on him to demonstrate that it's legitimate. It also couldn't hurt for her to be with you for the interview, if that's allowed by the embassy and a possibility for you both.

Good luck to you.

My fiance, now husband is from Iran and is much, much younger then me. We had no problems getting the Visa. I made one trip to Turkey to meet each other. I made another trip to spend time together as this process is so long but we already had approval and we were on AP. We knew each other a long time on the internet, over 4 yrs but I am not Muslim. We had lots of evidence and were very organized. We used an attorney service, not the expensive ones, just to fill out all the papers correctly. They guarenteed us a visa or our money back. He is here now and I am a bit worried about the AOS but I was worried about the K1 also and we had no problems. So it is just one step at a time. By the way ,they did not ask on question about age at the interview.

Good luck

In the many years on being on this site this is the first time i have come across a much older Male finance from the Philippines.

There must have been some funny looks at the Consulate.

LOL.. sorry to say but there has been a case which the age difference is 43 yrs and they passed the consulate interview without any problems.anyway, the consular will never mind the age gap nor give you a funny look during the interview. only narrow minded people will do that LOL. (well, ofcourse they are professional on what they do) and they are just looking for fraud if they will throw you more questions and it depends on your documents if they need more proof.

Simona and I are almost 13 years difference in age. I am sure that this is not something they can use unless it is an illegal age in either country.

They don't use it directly, but indirectly. It makes the case suspicious because the common way that people in those particular countries commit fraud is by picking a woman who is much older than they are, someone who might be more vulnerable to their manipulation, and once they reach the U.S. and obtain their green card, they dump her. Also, they don't necessarily have to ask about your age at the interview. They can just use their suspicion to investigate further your case or flag it as fraud, so you have to be prepared. It doesn't mean that they would definitely be denied, as many cases go through fine.

The older fiancee here, thanks to everyone for your replies.

Here is the link to the reviews for UAE. Not sure your local office, so you can plug that in. Hopefully you can find others in your situation. Also, not sure how a Pakistani citizen in UAE figures into the equation, but you might also check with spouses of Pakistani citizens in the Pakistan Portal about their experiences. They have been getting long APs. http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=United+Arab+Emirates&cty=West+Palm+Beach+FL&dfilter=5

Lots of luck and hang in there!
