Hi everyone. I am new to this site. I am just looking for some insite as I have been trying to research timeline and as much info as possible.

On April 12th I mailed our I-130 paperwork in with supporting documents. I received NOA on April 20th. It was assigned to NBC which I thought was a bit odd becuase all I can find online is info on the Vermont Service Center. We are 3.5 months in and I thought I would have heard something by now. I guess I am just hoping this process would go a bit faster. Has anyone had experience going though NBC? Any tips or insite would be wonderful. We also filed for my Sister-in law but from what I can see that may take over 2 years. Oh by the way they are in India if that helps at all.

Who's the petitioner?

It can't be you since no one can petition an inlaw.

If your spouse is the petitioner and he/she is a US citizen, then it 6-12 months for her mom to get a visa. It's 12 years for her sister - It's not 2 years.

Hi, you can update your timeline at IR-5 timeline post.

there is really is no "processing time" for the IR-5, it can be approved from 2 months to 12 months who knows.. ALmost all I-130 for parents are now being processed at NBC. You can call them and ask what's going on.
