In fact, they've grown so close that they got matching tattoos on their palms — the numbers 8-5-12, the date the gunman opened fire at a Milwaukee-area Sikh temple before killing himself minutes later.

Off topic, but I read this and immediately thought "this poignant and beautiful tattoo is going to cost them a job someday". Sad.

Sadly folks, the media still subscribes to the "if it bleeds it leads" philosophy. The media LOVED the IRA vs the UK stories - but barely touched on how that centuries old "battle" was all but ended when the women on both sides got together and essentially "shut down" dealing with their men sexually until the guys decided to talk it out instead of fight it out.

Watch for "good news" stories at least locally - and every time you see one, send an "atta boy" email or even snail mail to the source. I know we'll never get rid of all the bad news, but we DESERVE to have the news really "fair and balanced" by presenting those "feel good" stories in as front and center a manner as the "feel bad" stories!
