Update on me after failed medical exam in June

Hey everyone,
some of you might remember that I didn't pass my medical beginning of June because of pneumonia. My husband ( Military) had to expedite our DCF because he had orders to go back to the US and so we had already the movers scheduled and our house lease cancelled.
As I said I didn't pass my medical, they wanted me to come back in 6 weeks. After days of arguments with the Knightsbridge Doctors and Embassy there was no way around the 6 weeks waiting time and repeat the medical exam with x-ray again. They didn't care ( the Knightsbridge Doctors) about my situation about not having a home for awhile or the treatment I got from my own doctor for my pneumonia. The embassy was kind of understanding but they still couldn't do anything as the Knightsbridge Doctors have the higher power when it comes to the medical exam. Not even going back to Germany ( I am German, just lived in the UK) and finishing there was an option, according to the embassy I would have to finish in this country where I started, and also have to have a residence in the UK where they can get a hold of me.
I talked to people who also didn't pass their medical in the UK for nonsense reasons but that's another story.
Anyway, my husband had to leave and so did I, on a one-way ticket ( not recommended!!!!, just because it worked for me, may not work for anyone who plans to do the same!!). At the immigration we explained the situation because obviously they see if anyone has a return-ticket or not. We luckily didn't have any problems, the immigration officer or whatever you call the guys who check passports was VERY understanding, he even mentioned that there is the "AOS- option".
After thinking back and fourth, this is what we are doing now. Today we had an appointment with an immigration attorney and with his help we will file for the Adjustment of Status so I don't have to go back to the UK and repeat the medical exam.
So yeah, I wanted to give you an update that I am now in the UK, about to file the AOS. If anyone of you is in NC, Raleigh area, drop me a line :)
I just want to say THANK YOU for the people who answered all my questions for the I-130 etc. I really appreciated your help and also the kind words when I didn't pass my medical.

Did you mean you are now in the US?

Sorry to hear you had to go through all this - what an inopportune time to have pneumonia. :( you would think since it wasn't TB, they'd know it wasn't a long term problem ..anyway, hope everything goes more smoothly with this new plan. :)
