I sympathize with the driver.

I fail to see it being a hate crime

So simply because the 3 boys are black, you make the leap to a hate crime

I don't sympathize with the driver. In Florida you don't get to lap the milk from the bowl of the public till unless you are qualified to fill the responsibilities of your job, one of which is maintaining order on your bus.

A peek into the statute:

1006.10 Authority of school bus drivers and district school boards relating to student discipline and student safety on school buses.—

(1) The school bus driver shall require order and good behavior by all students being transported on school buses.

((3) The school bus driver shall control students during the time students are on the school bus, but shall not have such authority when students are waiting at the school bus stop or when students are en route to or from the school bus stop except when the bus is present at the bus stop.

(4) If an emergency should develop due to the conduct of students on the bus, the school bus driver may take such steps as are immediately necessary to protect the students on the bus.

Did he do his job or was he qualified to do his job? What's he sitting behind the seat for then? Affirmative action?

I said all that. I disagree with any job outside of police officer that requires you to have to potentially get your a$$ kicked. A bus driver (law or not) should not be asked to physically overcome someone much stronger than him. Granted, he prob could have helped the situation a bit more but who knows. What if he did try to help and they killed him or beat him bloody?

Are we actually considering that he didn't help because he's black and the attackers were black? Or are we saying a person of authority has some obligation to help those within his span of control?

I'm unsure as to how that translates to anyone defending the actions of the 3 guys.

Yes. That is actually what people are considering.

I'm honestly not sure what a 64 year old man is supposed to do in this situation. Those aren't wimpy young kids. They're fairly built teenage boys and there's one of him and three of them.

Yes, because that's the only reason certain folks post when it's this type of story. If it's the other way around, they will find every excuse in the book to justify the behavior(they had it coming, they were thugs, etc).

how about i get in your grill. here is the play-by-play. 3 pos hood rats sitting behind a small white kid jumped the kid on the bus. 2 of them were stomping on him from different seats (one to the head & one to the body while the kid was trying to hide under the seat) during the assault the black bus driver does nothing because its a white kid.

Ohh. Yeah I did miss that. I don't think the bus driver did nothing because he was white. I think the bus driver was probably scared $hitless and didn't know what to do TBH. That said, if the roles were reversed, and it was a black kid getting beat up by a bunch of white kids and the white bus driver didn't do anything, you could bet your a$$ there would be people screaming racism in this forum.

no, i didn't make a 'leap' at all. the video shows 3 black boys that tower over the 1 white kid all jump him at once & the black driver does nothing until the assault is over.

the reason given later (by someone) was the white kid presumably told officials at the school one of the three attacker tried to sell him drugs. do you think during the set up for the assault, the one kid that was supposedly told on asked for help to silence his accuser? or do you think the recruitment was centered around kicking whitey's ###?
