So our petition already left NVC and is on the way to the embassy in Kiev. Can someone tell me how to make the medical examination? The number to call for the medical exam on the consulate website does not work.

you dont have to schedule an appointment just go any day want.. just make sure they are open on that day!

Great thanks!and for the medical exam it says to bring the case number. We have the KEV number but just written down, they didn't send us anything. It is sufficient enough to have just the case number written down? thanks

Yes, just have the KEV number. Be advised, the clinic is a Ukrainan clinic and is not associated with the consulate, they are just the approved clinic, so to speak. They make their own hours and can decide to close whenever they want. "Hours of Operation" in Ukraine are usually considered "suggestions" so it is still best to call ahead if you are traveling to Kiev for an exam.

This is the information I had, not sure if it is still correct but you can try. when calling from the US you MUST dial 011-38 before the numbers listed below

Clinic for Oil-Refining Industry of Ukraine

8, Mykoly Amosova St.

Kyiv, Ukraine

Telephone: 044-270-2709, 044-275-4181

E-mail address: iomkievmed@iom.kiev.ua

As it is, they say to call them ahead of time to schedule an appointment, do not just walk in. I don't know if they will send you away without an appointment, but the embassy says to call them to schedule.

Does anyone know if you can take medical one day prior to your interview?

If there are no kids, then you can. That's how we are doing it. They give results the same day for adults (who get the x-ray). For kids (who get the skin test), the results will take 2-3 days, so you must come in advance.

Thanks, no kids, so this would be perfect.

Did you schedule the medical exam or is it on a walk in basis? I read people stating both ways.

I think that is true, we made an appointment, but it was not necessary. Given how busy the clinic was and the fact that you want to do it the day before you might want to make an appointment. I don't know if it will help but it probably can't hurt.

According to the instructions given by the embassy, the medical is by appointment only. I don't know if they will turn you away if you just show up without an appointment, but just call them and make one.

I find it frustrating at times finding information. Searches end up with info from all over the world that does not pertain to Ukraine. Some answers contradict others even within Ukraine.

Our K1 paperwork is in transit now to the embassy and we have the KEV number. We called the medical center and asked all the questions.

First, they insist on making an appointment. In my mind some people may be able to just walk in and get it if it is not busy but they say you must make an appointment.

Second, they said just having the KEV number is not good enough. They want the NVC paper (or copy of it) which I hopefully will receive someday. Hopefully because some people here have written that they never got any paper from NVC.

As follow up, on a second call to the med center with a different person answering, we are told that the NVC letter is not absolutely required and that the invitation for the interview will work just as well. It was also suggested that if nothing else was available then any type of official letter with the number printed on it would be fine. They suggested that I could make it myself. They just want something on paper. As usual, they are screwy. So we will bring the interview invitation. In a twisted Russian/Ukraine sort of way I get the feeling that they are simply trying to say that they do not want a person to come in giving the number from memory.
