Just sent AOS Packet but may have done something (quite possibly) very stupid...

Okay, here's my story...

I just my AOS packet yesterday (Saturday) via USPS Express Mail. I spent most of Friday checking and double-checking that I had everything needed on Friday. It was exhausting work but I was happy I was finally sending it in. Was quite confident I had everything on there (signatures, payment, Return Transcripts, W2s, other evidence) and I was quite relieved after I walked out of the Post Office, knowing it was out of my hands now and all I can do is wait. That is, until last night, when I realized that I put all my passport photos (5 of them: 1 photo for I-130, 2 photos for I-485, and 2 photos for I-765) in one clear plastic bag behind my G-325A for my I-130! What the?! And the simultaneous thoughts on my head were as follows: "Oh sh*t! Oh sh*t! Oh man! That's not good! How come I didn't separate the photos and attach them to the corresponding Form (i.e. I-485 and I-765)?!"

And I became very sad. And paranoid.

I know, I know...I shouldn't have done that and now I can't help but feel stupid. Maybe I should've checked it again on Saturday before mailing it. That could've made the difference, you know, take a step away from all of it and get fresh start, as opposed to going through the same bunch of papers all day Friday. Then maybe, I wouldn't have overlooked such a simple thing.

Anyway, I can't do anything else about it now except try to see if any of the folks here on VJ can help put my mind at ease (even just a little.)

1) Does anyone know if the paket is checked for completeness in Chicago? Or do they just open the package, separate the Petitions/Forms and send them directly to NBC without checking the documents?

2) Should I pretty much expect an RFE for photos not attached to the I-485 and I-765? (I'm assuming the answer to this question is yes, but, I thought I'd ask, just the same.)

3) Lastly, I don't suppose anyone did the same thing I did? Bunch all the passport photos together and attach it to the G-325A of one Form? (I figure no one else probably did this but, again, I thought I'd ask...)

Okay, listen, I'm pretty sure they can separate out the photos and distribute them as needed.

All my photo's were in a plastic pocket attached to the front of the whole packet... I had no problems and never got a RFE for more so I would not be so hard on yourself... I send my packet off before I found VJ and the guides here so I did not think to attach the photos to each application...

I'm also thinking that I'm probably just over reacting (which I I have to admit, I often do)...it's just that...I can't get over the fact that I overlooked something very simple. Don't you just want to hit yourself in the head when you do something like that?

This is a stressful process, but im sure you'll be ok. We also put all our photos in a plastic bag and attatched them to the front of the whole packet like Kez did. No problems either

Don't worry about it, they take the whole application apart and organise it the way they like it.

I dont' think it's a big deal at all, they receive all kind of stuff all the time, they will re arrange it. I know this process is stressfull, I also checked everything hundred times before sending it.

It will be o.k., that is just a minor thing.

No that is not stupid. The photos are protected that way. I submitted mine that way. Don't worry! The people assigned to open it in USCIS should have common sense. They segregate the forms. It would just take common sense from them to attach your photos to the forms. Hope they would be flexible in that matter.

I'm so glad to hear this! I think you're right, we all experience an increased level of stress in going through an immigration process, be it K1, K3 or AOS. But, thank you, for your words of encouragement. I truly appreciate it.

I attached all of the photographs to the front of the three applications as well and all of the applications were processed without RFEs or a problem, so you should be fine.

The only reason I was worried is because I attached my photos at the back of my I-130, and at the back of my G-325A and I was afraid it'll get overlooked (considering where I placed it.) So, that's why.

But because so many people have responded so positively (thank goodness for VJers!), I'm not as worried anymore as I was before.

We put all of the photos in one little crack bag and had no problem. I know these folks are stupid but the people opening the packages to get the checks out are the cream of the crop at USCIS.
