CONFLICTING DATES

On both forms G-325A and I-129F, on the part where it says, (when marriage ended) I wrote 2009 because that was when I had the family dissolution with my ex wife. Moreover, my uncle sworn in a notarized affidavit confirmed to the said date. But the problem is, my divorced certificate was 2013. Will that be a problem with such conflicting dates? please help.

Thanks Hypnos, I'm kinda worried but my fiancee thinks its OK b,cos of the notarized affidavit confirming to the 2009 date. Please tell me in case they want the date on the divorced certificate, are they going to send rfe to change the date on both forms?

I think the fact that your forms and someone else's affidavit say one date, but then the divorce certificate says a date four years later, could be a problem.

2009 date was when the both families came together to dissolved the marriage. Since then we have been separated till I filled for divorce 2013. So when the forms asked about when marriage ended automatically we thought it should be 2009 not 2013.

A marriage is not dissolved until you're divorced (or it ends through one spouse dying, or being annulled).

I'd be concerned about an outright denial for misrepresentation.

I would talk to an attorney about it, personally.

If you withdraw and reapply then you will be starting from scratch, so ~6 - 10 months.

You should speak with a lawyer and see if that's a good idea or not. They might recommend you simply continue with the existing process and see what happens.

Did you not send the divorce degree with the submission? In either case, you'd get a RFE if nothing else. I would probably chance it, hoping they will only send an RFE and then you can send in new forms and an explanation letter, but a talk with a lawyer or two is a good idea.

I sent in both divorced certificate (2013)/notarized affidavit of family dissolution (2009)..... but on both forms we wrote 2009 instead of 2013 because we thought the marriage was dissolved by both families since 2009.

Hi Queen and Hypnos, thanks for your assistance. We called in USCIS and was told to just send in a letter to correct any errors.
