i don't think i said it was a competition, did i?

other groups of people have suffered in this country, sure. duh.

I read it as it wasn't as bad because it wasn't officially slavery. Based on what I've read about the Chinese in the west, it was slavery. Granted, I'm not a subject matter expert in the least. I do know they were considered less than human and were pretty much free labor and expendable lives.

My point is when does it stop. What do we have to do to become equals? We were brought over here against our will and made slaves. Less than property. Then we get released and now get to be segregated because whites don't want us in the same breating space. Less than human. Then that gets taken away and now we have Affirmative Action, which means most people think we can't make it without help even though we've gone through hell here and back. And now, it's you need to change your culture, your whole identity in order to fit in with folks that fear and hate you.

Too much attitude. Learn from Asians how to be submissive and yet win, grasshopper.

You should talk to my grandfather, he's 94 this year. I don't need to plow fields to know how bad we had it even in this century.

I consider you an equal Marvin and I respect your struggle and your family's struggle. I really do. The world sucks bad. My wife's grandfather used to scream himself to sleep at night because of what the Japanese did to him. Both us and the Canadians put Japanese citizens and immigrants alike in internment camps not so long ago. You have the law on your side for the most part, which is a huge gain in this world. In some places, equal treatment due to race is not a right even today.

I know there are others that have been through worse than me or even blacks. It's just we seem to be the easiest target. Thanks. I just wish folks could walk a mile in our shoes, then come back and talk.

I wouldn't want to live in India, Hong Kong, or some other places I've been. Its so bad in India, they call you out on your blackness. I'd end up in jail or dead within a year.

It'd be great, for The Kenyan to fix the Race Problem, by paying The Reparations to the ancestors of the black slaves in the USA.

Damn that, if that were to happen, folks would be in here crying about it. When we fix things within our own community AND when other folks stop criminalizing us, things will get better.

To heck with that, Marvin.

You've got an African in the POTUS office, and he's not scheming to get the reparations handled in a timely fashion.

If he did it this year, landscape change everywhere.

No cause then all people would do is buy escalades and other stupid stuff. We don't need reparations. We need to clean up our neighborhoods and schools, we need to parent our children better, we need to be viewed as human beings, we need to stop being judged for the actions of a few.
