Capaldi, 55, becomes the 12th man to play the Doctor since the cult show debuted in 1963 with star William Hartnell and the fourth Time Lord since executive producer Russell T Davies rebooted Doctor Who in 2005, following Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant and Smith.

Just watched the LIVE BBC event. A bit cheesy, but I like cheesy...

Yay !!! I'm gonna miss Matt Smith and the Clara Companion...

But Tom Baker is still the best Doctor ever. ;)

He had a crappy companion though, can't remember her name but she shrieked all the time, mind you, they all did back then :(
