Hiiiii,

Hicham and I just got home and I wanted to say Happy Sunday!

Have a great day everyone!

Sarah and Hicham

Holy Moly, girl, what were you two up to?

Jackie, out of probably a dozen company holiday parties, I'd guess most ended in disaster of some sort for me. I honestly don't know what happens then suddenly someone has a meltdown, or someone drinks too much, or someone's fighting with their husband, or office fights come out.

We went to an English pub to watch a band and have a beer (or two).

Does Hicham drink?

What's it to you? Didn't you read my post?

The majority of the Moroccans I know personally drink & smoke.

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

I just had a long day today getting ready for my husband to come!

I hope you got everything done that you wanted.

You must be so excited. :)

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

-Qur'an, Al-Infitar, Surah 82:1-5

I don't drink, so I would be the odd one out. I wonder if this has to do with those who drink gravitating towards others who do, and those who don't seeking out the same.

I also do not accept smoking in my home, so Abderrafie would be one ice-cold Moroccan in the winter!

My goodness Sarah, a wee bit testy are we? I was just curious since you mentioned he is Muslim and since I'm a pretty new revert sometimes I'm confused on what is haram and what is halal. Yes I read your post but it wasn't too clear if he actually imbibed.

I don't think you will learn what is halal or haram by asking what other Muslims do. Like any religion, people vary in what they follow, or in their interpretation of what is right/wrong to begin with.

If you are confused about what is halal or haram, the Qur'an is an excellent source, definitely a better choice than asking after the habits of other Muslims. If you you have questions about you read, you can try to reconcile it with other texts - or you can turn to one of the main madhabs if you don't care to work these things out for yourself individually.

Oh please, I think everyone knows about drinking alcohol and that it is haram. Like I said, I never portrayed Hicham as a perfect Muslim or one who is strict.

I'm sure your fiance can tell you everything you need to know about being a good Muslim to his standards though. :star:

I'm sure it does. I know my BIL in particular has stopped going around some friends who are religious.
