Hello everyone, okay so the situation is my mom is getting her tourist visa to bring my son over here in the US, theyre still in the philippines now. my question is

1:once my mom get her visa how many days till the visa get expired before she come here?

2:I know that a tourist visa is valid for 6 month as maximum, does the six months start counting once her passport got stamped with a visa or once she is in POE?

It depends. Usually, tourist visas are valid for either a year (one entry during that time, maximum stay 6 months once you enter), or ten years (enter as many times as you want during the ten years, but only stay max 6 months once you enter, and no more than 180 days in any rolling year).

SO how long can my mom keep her visa before she enters the US?

It depends which one she gets.

If she gets 1-year visa and she wants to use it, she must cross the US border within this year. It might be on the last day of the visa validity.

If she gets 10-year visa, she has 10 years to use it.
