Welcome to the forum.

When my wife had her K-1 interview at the US consulate in Guangzhou, she quickly realized that the CO was fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese). However, my wife preferred to speak in English to demonstrate her English proficiency and to bolster our genuine relationship claim (to facilitate common communication). She likely scored some good points for doing so. It is the sum total of your application package and interview skills that will likely result in a favorable outcome. You may as well "load the deck" as much as possible to gain success at this important meeting.

I know that I have spent the ensuing year (and will likely continue), becoming more proficient with Mandarin., a bit of quid pro quo...

Good luck.

I've never heard of an I-130 consular interview - what is it ?

re: language - for example - if it's in China - then some variant of Chinese will be used (Mandarin, Cantonese, Taishanese, Fujianese) as well as having English available.

But lets say it's a Chinese National interviewing in Warsaw. Suggest someone should know Polish or English, in that scenario.

bonus points to you, for obfuscation..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
