What to send to your fiance(e) once the I-129F is approved (Receive NOA2):

7.

7. Proof of your ongoing relationship. This needs to be taken to the interview! Include photos, travel documents, emails, etc from between the time you filed and present (NOA1 date-now).

So I'm wondering if it is necessary to make a copy (for myself?) of all documentary evidence that I will be sending her to bring to the interview? I had already made 2 complete copies of the original I-129F packet but wasn't sure if I needed to also make a copy of all this additional evidence of our ongoing relationship? I'm hoping not....... because this is already enough work as it is!

Also, I have a problem with #2 from the guide:

2. Send all originals of the documentary proof that you submitted for the I-129F to your fiance(e) for their interview at the embassy.

For those who have already been past this interview stage, did they really require your ORIGINALS? I know it says on the guide, but on letter K of the Consular Section Info, it just says that we must be prepared to prove to the consular officer

that you have a genuine relationship with your petitioner...
No where does it state that we must bring the ORIGINALS from the original I-129 package & I can easily provide enough proof aside from the originals! So some ambiguity!! I just want to do what's actually needed, as 2 pieces of info contradict each other....

Sure the process can be daunting and tedious but It's better to be safe than sorry. If you have a scanner I would go ahead and make yourself at least a digital copy of the documents you are sending her. This will give you something to go over with her while you prep for the interview, because remember the information you send her is going to be more questions they can ask at the interview.

As for the originals, I'm not sure if they actually take them or not but the reason you send them is because they could ask for them. If they say, "We'd like to see the original airline tickets used as evidence." and you don't have them, well now you have to send them to her and try again. Now I wouldn't send an original copy of your birth certificate and passport but the rest of it sure.

This is just my 2 cents though, as my Fiancée and I are just at the interview stage now and yes I sent her originals and included a certified copy of my birth certificate just in case.

For my fiancé and my understanding, on-going relationship means proof that we are still in relationship after we filed the I-129f. Plus, it doesn't say in packet 3 that I need to bring the copy of I-129f packet... so, I will not bring the copy of the I-129f to the interview.

When I said "originals" I thought I clearly indicated I'm questioning bringing the originals from the I-129 PACKET vs. JUST the originals from my recent trip to her just pre-NOA2 (so i dont have to make all those damn copies once again). Especially since it doesn't state anything on letter K to bring the ORIGINALS.............

When they say originals... I believe they mean her birth certificate, a new letter of intent, any divorce decrees/annulments, etc...

My response was based on the I-129F packet in which you provided, potentially, scanned evidence ("documentary proof") to the USCIS. Evidence that they can ask to see in person at the beneficiaries interview. You may believe you have all the right evidence in the world to prove your relationship without sending the originals, but remember you are not the one doing the interview. Every case is handled differently, and what if you are the 1 in a million that gets asked "We'd like to see the originals" and you did not send them. Cover all your bases, and don't worry about how much work it is. If you send too much, at least you were prepared and not caught with your pants down.

Though it's your petition, and you should do what you want to do and what feels right to you. If I had interrupted your question wrong then apparently we are just on two different pages.

KCCO is correct, that is all they need, birth certificate, a new letter of intent, any divorce decrees/annulments, ect.

Do not bring your I-129 original filing.
