Interview on Monday, nerves are kicking in!

I have my interview in the morning and cannot wait. This is what my fiancée and I have been waiting for all this time. I have paid for the interview and have printed off the receipt.

Just going through my paperwork for the interview, while they already have the documents listed, I kept copies just in case. I also copied my birth certificate (both long and short versions) and my police certificate. The only document not done is DS-230 part 2 which I was led to believe would be done during the interview. Is that accurate?

What I am most nervous about is the evidence of our relationship and the interview itself. We have not seen each other since October 2012 as we wanted to save as much as we can for our wedding and have had to rely on Skype and WhatsApp. We have sent each other cards for things such as Easter which I have kept the envelopes for. The only photographs of us are the ones of us during her visit in October and my visit in February 2012. We do have a letter from the church confirming the date of our wedding in September.

I also am worried about what they may ask at the interview itself. I hate the idea of them asking me a question about her and I can't recall for example what the colour of her eyes are, or what her brother does for a living. I just have a nasty feeling I will mess that part up.

First of all, good luck and don't get nervous!!! I am just telling you about my personal experience, ok?

- I just had pictures from two visits (we have been together for 3 years, but not even one single pictures with families or friends at the time of interview)

- They didn't ask me things about him (they save that for the green card interview you will have together here after you get married), they just asked how we met

- I saw my husband (at the time fiancee) 7 months before the interview. The fiancee visa requirement is that you must have to meet each other in person at least one time int he past 2 years

- I didn't fill the DS-230 part II. I believe (not sure) that part is for another visa

- Some people that were having their interviews the same day as mine, had so many pictures and big albums, that the consular officers told them to keep the album and just give them a couple, specially because the whole album won't fit through the window that you'll have between you and the CO

Goog luck, you will be fine!

Am sure you do fine, they only require that you two have seen each other in 2 years, so if you two saw each other last year you wont have any problem. Remember that sometimes they tend to ask some questions that they don't even know the answer to but how you answer it and face expression is what they looking for so you have to be confident if you don't know answer to any question, you tell them your not sure. Overall they ask very simple questions like how you two met, how old she is, what she does for a living, the last time you saw her. Goodluck

I'm sure you will do great! Read the embassy reviews for the UK to see what kind of questions you can expect. We had a similar experience as the previous posters. They only looked at a few of our pictures and chat logs. Most of our questions were about how we met. The CO did ask a lot of the same questions that had been mentioned by posters in the embassy reviews for Romania, so we were prepared to answer them.

Good luck!

It's going to be way easier than you envision in London. Questions you will easily answer. No evidence of relationship. No proof of wedding.

Your forms went to the embassy. Your documents go with you to the interview. The DS-230 part 2 is not a K1 form. That is for spouse visas.

Your biggest challenge is how to arrange the courier. London changed that Monday where there is an online place to pay the visa fee and arrange delivery both at the same time instead of paying for the visa over the phone and paying the courier inside the embassy. You are maybe stuck half done. You can't do the online unless you do both parts. It is also new and messed up. Wait until your interview and they will tell you in person how the half done transitional people are being handled. People this first week were told they would get an email. Maybe when you go Monday, they will have worked something simple out and tell you. Please report back your experience.

I wasn't asked to provide any proof of relationship when I went for my embassy interview. I really do think that in 99% of cases, once you get to the embassy, it's virtually a formality you getting the visa. I actually enjoyed the couple of hours I spent at the embassy. The AOS interview was more vigorous than the embassy interview, and even that felt a waste of time. The officer even told us he ad virtually made up his mind on our case as he reviewed our file the day before. I still say the worst part ofte process is the medical. Once that's out the way, it's pretty much all plain sailing.
