I agree with you on most things, but you miss the point sometimes.

They tried to take away YOUR guns because of what Adam Lanza did. The right to own thise guns is the 2nd Amendment, right after the 1st Amendment which allows Marvin to practice Islam in this country. And free speech. You want to talk about a group of people being judged because of the actions of a few?

Forget about Lanza's religion. No one is trying to ban Islam, it is not even suggested to be restricted in any way, yet Marvin was all for taking away YOUR guns because of what Adam Lanza did and then says we should not judge HIM because of what other people of his race or religion do. He is such a hypocrite I want to puke.

Yeah, that's a state Senator in Montpelier. We have some nutters here also, but it never goes anywhere. There were two proposals this year for state assault weapons bans, one had NO co-sponsors, one had 3. They were both withdrawn. The city council of Burlington "passed" an assault weapons ban...except in order for it to have an effect they have to ask the state legislature permission to include that in their city charter. The state legislature ignored the request and it died when the legislature recessed.

If you recall all the haterz here were rejoicing at Burlington's action for days and I was the laughing stock of VJ and there were predictions I would drown myself in Lake Champlain or leave the state...right. After letting them act foolish for a few days, I posted the truth. The "ban" was nothing more than a publicity stunt with no affect whatsoever. They were all disappointed to learn my rights were intact. Poor, misguided haterz

But this...Senator...is a good example of how they want to restrict the rights of firearms owners just because we own firearms...it would be like registering all Muslims, just because they are Muslim. Ridiculous.

This is because you only have one or two blacks here at one given time. Myself and Gowon on a good day. I can only imagine what was going on here before I started coming in. There are far more muslims here and for whatever reason when it comes to bashing muslims, they are mostly drive by hate links that get taken out.

Three years ago or so it was a lot of Jew bashing. And there was even one user here who married an American woman, immigrated here and bashed America here 7 days a week. I honestly have no idea how many blacks are here. I know there are a few others that I haven't seen post in a while. I have no idea what nationality or religion most people here are unless they post it. There are plenty of flags under members names that are not true and I also don't believe everything I read here or on other forums. A lot is posted here to get a rise or reaction out of the "opposite" side in most every thread. And it works, day in and day out. I am sure some play along, others don't.

How do you come up with that nonsense? I have not said anything of the sort. Education is great. You should have tried some for yourself. Then you may have been able to respond to a post with something that actually relates to it rather than with something that doesn't.

I see the GOP in full on blacksploitation mode using all the negative statistics they can find, well besides the numbers on poverty, profiling, incarceration and crime. In order to prove their "blame this on the black man" stance.

I also see the GOP unwilling to assist in finding a possible solution. Basically they'd like "the blacks" to fix it. It all sounds so very South Africa circa 1980's.

Although we're suppose to be one country and one people, the media, the GOP and the base displays a clear separation of "us" and "them".

We are not that far removed from the civil rights movement and people are "tired" of hearing it. The civil rights movement was to remove the institutionalized acts of racism only. It did little to raise the living conditions of those already in poverty. With the crash of the manufacturing sector more and more of these areas become war zones.

The fact is that being black no matter where you go you're still identified as black. So before you can get your foot in the door there is that first hurdle to get over. That doesn't happen to non-brown people as much. Most even want affirmative action obliterated even though they'll freely admit blacks were treated badly for a very very long time in the US. But it's all better now right?

You yourself hired some people of color recently correct? To do some home improvement type work? You hired them because these "questionable immigration status workers" would do the work dirt cheap. Maybe unlicensed? Maybe without permits? Point being that happens all over the US and all those jobs therefore cannot be done by the indigenous population who needs to work. Hey I don't blame you, the loophole is there.

So when you blame the crime numbers on those living in and around poverty remember that bottom line everyone has got to eat. Either we as a people give them jobs or wait for them to crawl through our windows. It's street economics 101.

And the same people that destroyed the black family by replacing the black father with the "great white father" work for and protect the illegal aliens being exploited for a profit by business owners who employ them and destroy more jobs. when are we going to give incentives, or meaningful penalties, to people who exploit smuggled humans to avoid our labor laws for profit?

Seems like overcoming "blackness" as a black citizen ought to be easier than overcoming illegal presence, lack of being able to speak the langauge and no documentation of skills, education or even a reference. Yet black teen unemployment is at 41% and illegal alien unemployment is at -0- %

Of course we PAY black families NOT to work and penalize their benefits if they DO work and illegals get none of that unless they work. Hmmmm. Could there be a connection?
