You might want to have her write a letter to attest to that, since you don't live there right now.

Your husband may be asked for proof that you have either maintained your US residence (US bank accounts, voting record, rented house, driving licence) or that you're re-establishing it (looking for work, finding somewhere to live, making plans for household good shipping etc.). I doubt London will give him a hard time, but it'll pay to put some thought into it.

Our domicile evidence that we actually ended up showing was simply a letter from my husband's employer showing that he worked in the SF office (we took more evidence than that), although we did verbally explain his temporary UK assignment and its terms.

I'm reading everything but it's confusing me. I had the intent to stay here for a while but I never intended to live here permanently. I lived with between my grandmothers house and my mothers house all my life. They BOTH moved while I was here in the UK for the past year, so it will be a new home for me and my husband. I'm trying to figure out what I can take to show domicile or intent to re-establish, if it wasn't MY home. I don't have a job to show as I'm a freelance makeup artist. My job travels with me. I still have my dmv stuff and taxes being filed over there.

I have my california driving license in my wallet. It expired back in november of last year, and I can't renew it until I'm actually there at the DMV. By renew, I mean name change. I think my grandma got me a new one that's not expired.

I also have my registered voting card they sent me for last years election overseas.

I shut down my bank account in the states as it didn't have hardly any money in it anyway...

I have a letter from my mother saying we're going to live there.

Does stuff like that count?

Yes. It shows you have maintained your US domicile and can submit an I-864. And without you being the sponsor, he wouldn't get a visa. That's why you have to establish your domicile is in the US or you have taken steps to restablish it. Some people don 't have valid driver licenses or voter registration or any US ties and must show how they are working toward getting US ties back. It's a formality to comply with the I-864 saying only an American resident can fill out the form and you are currently resident in Englant. But you have some ties that show America is your permanent home (domicile) and England is only your current residence.

I'm surfing the web looking for some kind of example form, just so I KNOW I'm doing it right.

I hate guessing :/
