My husband was also asked by email to submit new documents and a medical in March. We sent everything to the embassy in April. Although we still remain in AP it is a good sign that they are asking for these documents and your passport.

This is a good sign (in a way) basically what happend is the medical is only good for one year. so when it expires the first time... they ask for a second one if they are still working on it to keep the file up to date.

when you respond to this inquiry make sure you submit it with a cover letter, which identifys which case this is pertaining to you case number the name of the beneficiary and applicant current address and also an index of the items you are submitting, Also include a copy of the email. (Pm me if you need help with this) Reason for this is the embassy gets a lot of cases and some people do not include a CV or anything and the file gets lost or they have to do resarch to find whom the documents that are beign submitted for and who they belong to. If you submit the information properly, completly with the necessary documents your case will move along quickly. (I know this because my wife and I just had our interview for her green card, and the reviewing agent was kind enough to give me some pointers and appreciated the format of submiitting our docs)

I agree OP - at least Embassy is aware that medical needs to be renewed and is paying attention to the details of your application. Our embassy has as of yet not asked for any further documents from the day of my husband's interview so I would say its a good sign. Update us soon and good luck!

Badtime- I have inquired about this step a lot and the lawsuit is known as mandamus. Many lawyers have taken this step on behalf of their clients who are stuck in AP for an unreasonable amount of time. I have also read some posters here on VJ who have taken this step themselves. The issue is the technicality of deciding what is an " excessive" amount of time versus whats necessary to wrap the case up. I have read recently that lawyers recommend taking this action after reaching the 15 month mark in AP. Im looking into this as a possibility for my husband's application. Let me know what you find

I can understand where youre coming from Badtime; we have been through so many challenges in this country. They all began from the beginning ofmthe process 3 years ago and we're still not done. Stay strong and just think how great it will be when this is all over and you and your family are united once again inshallah. We are also waiting on word if there's any progress made in my husband's case. I will keep you and everyone on VJ in such hard times in my prayers as always. Update us here so we know if anything's getting better and I'll keep you posted as well.
