In my checked baggage (from UK-USA)?!

(For the non-English, Pimms is is a brand of fruit cups, but also may be considered a liqeur...)

I'm thinking from reading this that the answer is no?!

USCIS (239 days):

04.18.2013 - NOA1

12.13.2013 - NOA2 via email; I-130 approved. Shipped to NVC

NVC (274 days):

12.30.2013 - Arrived at NVC

01.27.2014 - Received case no. & IIN

02.07.2014 - Completed & submitted DS-261 form online

02.13.2014 - Paid AOS bill

02.18.2014 - AOS showing as 'paid'

03.18.2014 - Invoiced for IV bill (finally!)

03.19.2014 - Made payment for IV bill

03.21.2014 - IV bill showing PAID

03.24.2014 - Completed DS-260 online

03.29.2014 - Mailed IV Packet

04.26.2014 - IV packet all approved, false checklist from NVC for AOS packet

05.07.2014 - AOS packet sent

06.12.2014 - AOS packet scanned in (took them THAT LONG to do it)

I think that you can. If you have bought it in the UK before you get to the airport then it is duty paid not duty free. I didn't read the entire link but I didn't see anything to make me think it was not allowed. I looked because I have often had a bottle of something in my suitcase.

I would say you can bring it (unless the bottles are too big, ie more than a litre).

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I have a 75cl bottle which I was planning to pack. I guess I just need to declare it on my customs form?

I'm sure they will. I did Pimms when I hosted my book club and they all loved it! Though I think one or two did not realise it had alcohol in it!! devil.gif

You can ring it... however, If it has alcohol in it... Put it on the customs declaration... They won't give a darn, but if you get secondary and it is not declared, they make a fuss...

Customs is not that bad in US, they do not care about a bottle or two of alcohol.

Worst case is they would take it away but thats pretty much it. I would not be worried about it.

Only thing is pack in check-in not in carry on.

I took over a bottle of vodka to help me make friends on a roadtrip I was doing in the US lol and they asked if any of my luggage was staying in the US, I told them about the 700ml bottle of vodka (to be on the safe side!) and they didn't care. It's things like soft cheeses, meat, fresh fruit and plants that they are bothered about. I also found an article which states "Up to one liter of alcohol is permitted, free of tax and while you're allowed to bring more than that for personal use, you'll have to pay duty and IRS taxes on it. "
