Hi Friends,

This question may be mainly for India folks, I received check-list for both AOS(2nd) and IV(1st).

For AOS it seems to be a false one as they are waiting for my response to checklist they sent earlier. And they have already in the system since 09/25. So this can be ignored.

For Passport Police Certificate, I want to be very sure even though 2 Reps told me after I received checklist that you need to obtain it and present it at the time of Interview.

I assume that is corect but I do not want to get checklist again when actually my AOS is accepted on or before 10/21. And then wait for anotehr month for IV checklist.

Can you guys confirm that for Indian Consulates, it is not needed to have PCC to be sent to NVC? And hope fully I will have my case completed as soon as AOS checklist review is completed?

Thanks.

Hi ,

NVC reps told me the same thing.... that PCC is needed during interview and not during NVC document processing.

But My husband got his PCC done as soon as we received a case number and I mailed with IV documents. He still has the original. I sent attested copy of PCC to NVC.

Some times you shouldn't go by what NVC Reps say cuz they asked me not to fill DS 260 I would have been case completed in Sep 11 and received IL by now. Case Still under processing . I suggest you get your PCC ready its almost time for Case completion.

Good Luck.

Thanks MJSAM. I had to apply for her new passport as the marital status changed and now she has received her new passport in Tatkal and allowing some time before police verification is done and is entered into Passport Office System. We will reapply for PCC again next week and then I will send scan copy first and depending on the response I will send attested PCC.

Good luck to you too.

But If you have Applied for your Passport then you don't need to really Have PCC .

I might be wrong but, PCC is Not needed if your Passport is less than 6 months Old at the time of your interview.

I know this because , I applied for a new passport(Someone stole my bag when I went to request PCC) during my IV Interview. So I applied and received a new one.

So I was not required to have PCC. But get it Anyways. You don't want any delay after your interview in case if they need.

Thanks MJSAM. Sorry to hear that stealing incident. That is very unfortunate.

It was a bad experience. But me n my sis had a few days to get our passport and Medical ready before interview.

So did you have to send PCC to NVC? Did you get your case completed before that?

I sent my husband's attested copy of PCC with the IV documents in Aug 16th . NVC said they have all documents in the file.

When I got a first Checklist on 11th Sep for IV to submit DS 260 they didn't ask anything else So I guess all documents are good to go.

I will be case complete soon. waiting for end of this month for IL .

Yes, they do look similar. I hope so. I should have been case completed on 09/30 like apple21 as my IV got accepted (I believe so) on 09/30. If AOS checklist is completed in 15 business days then that would be 10/15. If not even if it is done by 10/18 we should be OK as there are chances that we will get Interview for December. If it is completed on 10/21 which is 20th BD then not sure we will get the I/L in Novemeber or not.

Let's see who all in September got CC, get I/L in October or not, that way we will know what will happen to us next month.
