oh i thought you are waiting for case completion. Yes my case number was given pretty fast. my noa2 was pretty fast too. But the nvc process was quite a pain in the A&$ recently when i got checklist review of docs take quite long

Congrats. It will be helpful to share the interview questions your wife faced at the consulate. :-)

Hi vkrishn,

It was actually quite simple.

First, my wife got in line for the first window. In this window, the lady returned some documents to my wife and asked for the police certificate (the same one they already had). She also gave us back two pictures of my wife we previously sent to the NVC. Finally, the lady requested my wife's passport and two recent photographs. During this time, the lady asked my wife if she ever went to the US and that was it. It took only a couple of minutes. The lady told my wife to wait for the consul to call her for the interview.

During the interview, the first thing the consul did was fingerprint my wife (other people at the embassy were asked some questions before they were fingerprinted, which makes me think it was a done deal once my wife was fingerprinted). Then, the consul asked my wife five questions: 1. Who is the person who is accompanying you (it was me). 2. When did he come to Colombia? (The consul was again referring to me). 3. In which state does your husband live? 4. Is this your and your husband's first marriage? 5. Have you ever traveled to the US? Then the consul gave us back some family pictures we sent to the NVC and that was it! She said my wife's visa was approved and gave us instructions on how to get her passport back.

Base on my husband's and my kids interview experience, the answer is YES! hubby was sched at 6:15 am and he was out at 10:00 am! My kids (of course I was the one interviewed) were scheduled at 6:30 and we were out and done 11:00 am. !!!

How long have you been staying in Colombia? I'll be outside of the US for about 3 months at the time of my wife's feature interview.... Wondering if it'll be a problem...

I've been in Colombia for little over a month and we had no issue with that. I think it depends on many things like who filed the affidavit and things like that. If you filed the affidavit by yourself with no sponsor, you need to make sure you prove you still have a job in the US. However, if you have a sponsor for your wife, maybe you staying in your country for too long won't be an issue. I'm not quite sure. In my case, I'm on vacation from work so I was prepared to show an employment letter if the consul ever requested, but the consul didn't ask for anything.

Hi! To Manila people - I was just wondering how long the interview really takes. My interview is at 6:15 AM, what time on average do you think I will be finished with everything at the embassy? Like will I be out and done before lunch? :) Thanks!

Hi!

We had my wife's interview in Bogota, COL, but maybe it applies to the Manila US embassy as well. My wife's appointment was any 8:30 am and we showed up at 7:45. We were let in inmediately and there was a line of like 5 or 6 people. The real delay was waiting for the people in front of us to have their interviews, because our interview only lasted about 5 min. We got out of the embassy by 10:30. So I guess you'll be out of the embassy by 9 at the latest based on that.

Hi vkrishn,

It was actually quite simple.

First, my wife got in line for the first window. In this window, the lady returned some documents to my wife and asked for the police certificate (the same one they already had). She also gave us back two pictures of my wife we previously sent to the NVC. Finally, the lady requested my wife's passport and two recent photographs. During this time, the lady asked my wife if she ever went to the US and that was it. It took only a couple of minutes. The lady told my wife to wait for the consul to call her for the interview.

During the interview, the first thing the consul did was fingerprint my wife (other people at the embassy were asked some questions before they were fingerprinted, which makes me think it was a done deal once my wife was fingerprinted). Then, the consul asked my wife five questions: 1. Who is the person who is accompanying you (it was me). 2. When did he come to Colombia? (The consul was again referring to me). 3. In which state does your husband live? 4. Is this your and your husband's first marriage? 5. Have you ever traveled to the US? Then the consul gave us back some family pictures we sent to the NVC and that was it! She said my wife's visa was approved and gave us instructions on how to get her passport back.
