F2A filers waiting for CASE COMPLETION from NVC

If the 7% quota had been reached for most countries - then we would not be having the Dept of State make the F2A category current - since there was a significant amount of unused Visas in this category is exactly why they made the category current to elicit more demand and speed up NVC processing. Also another thing to consider and I may be wrong but I think the new year starts in October as far as the Dept of State is concerned, if that is the case then even if there is a quota fillup through September, if your case has past the NVC stage and within the new upcoming October priority date (by some estimates will be Sept - Nov 2012) I think you should be fine. Only those people like myself and some others who are from Pakistan have to be worried about the potential for a length administrative processing hold up.

I think what some people are forgetting/failing to realize is one's priority date AS WELL AS where you were born go hand in hand. No country will get more than 7% of the allotted number of visas.

So it doesn't necessarily mean that because you were petitioned for first means you will get ure immigrant visa before someone who got in line after you.

Someone with a 2012 priority date is probably from a country that hasn't "capped out" for fiscal year 2013, so with the visa bulletin being current, they were able to be processed all the way through rather than being "lucky". ~~~

IV is the Immigrant visa application which is the DS230. You have to pay your IV fee invoice first which is $230 inorder for you to print out the coversheet that will go with your IV packet so you can send it to NVC.

Next step for you is to call NVC for your case # and invoice identification number (IIN). It's taking around 2-3 weeks for them to generate your case #.

Indeed, Shabbera, I agree with you. However, I was pointing out the fact that because the category is "current", in theory, there are visas Immediately available for everyone, but of course some countries like PI, China and alike have already "capped out" for fiscal year 2013. Come October, invitation letters should be rolling in.

All the best to you! I always find ure comments intesting and we sometimes think along the same lines. :-) ~~~

For recently approved cases, you may want to post here for the NVC process: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/423515-nvc-process/page-74

To answer your query, you won't be able to take advantage of the "Current" situation because you are not yet case completed. F2A will retrogress come Oct VB so everything will depend on the new cut-off priority date that will be shown there.

Hi Apple21! I have a quick question re the ds 3032 form, should i download the form and email it to nvc or use the letter format that is posted on the vj website. Your answer will be greatly appreciated. I just want to know how to do it properly so i won't get rejected. Thanks in advance
