When will I need to prepare the afidavit for my I-129F K-1?

In the USCIS website says that I don't submit the affidavit of support until my fiance enters and we are ready to adjust the status to permanent resident. In some posts I see comments about bringing the affidavit paperwork to the interview. Witch one is correct?

Since I'm going to visit my fiance in Guatemala and hopefully stay there to come back together (I have a lot of faith in God), I wanted to get all that ready. As of right now I don't meet the income requirement to sponsor my fiance, so I was counting my dad would do that for me if this is ok to do. The problem is that my dad is serving as affidavit for his daughter and the husband of another of my sisters. We want to make sure he will be able to serve as affidavit on 3 different cases.

I'd really appreciate any advice.

Thanks

Which affidavit of support are you speaking of? The I-134 Affidavit of Support that will be required at the beneficiary's interview at the embassy, or the I-864 Affidavit of Support that will be required later on during the AOS process?

Refer to the VJ Guides (accessible at the top of the forum page) and the Guatemala Embassy Info page for more info:

Good luck.

The USCIS website you are speaking of is talking about the I-864 affidavit of support. The I-864 will not be needed until it comes time to file for AOS. However, the I-134 affidavit of support is the one used for K-1 interviews. You will basically be proving sponsorship twice. Once with the I-134 for the K-1 visa and then again for AOS with the I-864.

They are right. You need the I-134 for the interview and I-864 for submitting the AOS.

As far is your dad is concerned, make sure his income is high enough to support the minimum income requirement for supporting all these people. Otherwise, it could be questioned by the immigration officers.
