My fiance is Brazilian and I'm glad that I can go into the interview with him. They won't have to ask him if he has a picture of me because I'll be there :P .

I'll be bringing everything with me as far as evidence and the paperwork goes as well - make me feel better that it won't be lost in the mail. But I plan on mailing him everything just in case (CYA).

And...the interview is in Rio so we can have a romantic pre-honeymoon :D .

I have sick days so I can take off from work to travel and be with my fiance for everything.

if i don't have the miles to go all the way to bring my fiance here, i'm at least going to meet him in miami or wherever he lands here so he doesn't feel terrified when he lands here. that's a much cheaper option.

Timeline:

Oct. 6 - Packet mailed by lawyer to CSC

Oct. 10 - NOA1 Received

and still waiting

May 19 - Set wedding date that I hope we don't have to change

I don't get sick days OR vacation pay. Every day I take off to be with my fiance costs me like 200 bucks (after taxes) and I don't care! Is that love or what?

I met my fiancé at the airport, but he had already gone through immigration by the time I had gotten there.

Funnily enough, we were just talking about this today. I think it'd be fun to go with him for the trip down to London, to keep him company and whatnot...providing my work load is not that bad...but it's not really a do or die thing. And it's not looking likely, cos I'd rather go closer to him leaving...

What I WOULD like to do is go there and help pack up our belongings...cos I have about 6 30-kilo cases of clothes and shoes :o:yes::lol::blush: ...let alone his stuff and all of our stuff that we're bringing/shipping/etc. He's got a very demanding job and since he's been there 19 years, he's not just going to leave them in the lurch, so I'd like to be able to take care of the home stuff while he sorts his work in a manner in which he sees fit. Then his free time can be spent partying, spending time with the fam, and enjoying himself with not having to worry about doing anything else :) I'm a hellacious organizer, so he could leave me to deal with all of that.

I don't want him to be burdened with all of that to do & I'd love to go back to deal with it. Well, I'm not a martyr...I do get joy from making it easier for him any way I can...plus all my marras can plan me an insane hen night.:dance: Hey, since I'm there, why not? :innocent::devil:

Again, it all depends on work commitments on my end, so I suppose we'll wait and see :star:

Although I do not have extra money (hey, I'm only a teacher ;) ) I'll be traveling to Brasil to be with my fiance for his interview.

He does not speak English and has never travelled internationally. I don't want him to go through this alone so I will be accompanying him.

It's up to you.

Depending on the embassy you probably won't be able to be at the interview with him anyway. You will sit outside untilo it is completed.

Actually, In Brasil you can (at least for us). It actually seems like they welcome it and actually asked me more questions than my then fiancee.

I had planned on marina making the trip by herself, Ekat-Moscow-JFK-PBI. After reading these posts I decided to ask her if she would like me to meet her in NYC at JFK. "NO, i am no baby" lol

I have seen before that immigration officer will try to find someone who speak the language if the person going through immigration does not speak English. I mean, English fluency is not requirement for people to visit the US (I would think). Good thing for me I did not have any connection to catch so direct flight helps.

Question is, will your fiance be comfortable making the travel alone.

Good luck !

If you can afford it sure do, If the finances are not quite good you can save that money for AOS as lot of expenses will occur when your fiancee gets here. Have a saf journey
