If she is a German citizen then she can use the visa waiver program to visit for up to 90 days at a time during the processing of the spousal visa. She won't be able to live or work in the USA though.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

You need to fill in ESTA at least 72 hours prior to departure. It costs, I think, $14 and is good for two years: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/

In order for me to be legally married in germany her town hall needs several documents from me:

-birth certificate with apostille (translated to german)

-affidavit from notary public about marital status (legally able to marry)

-residence certificate (proof of residence)

Anyone know if you can get all this at your town hall? If not, where would I be able to obtain them? Thanks I advance.
