Guns and stuff

  1. 1. I have a gun on my person. Am I looking for trouble?

    • Yes. You cannot carry a gun unless you are looking for trouble.
    • No. You can carry a gun and go about your everyday business.
    • Maybe. You might do more vigilante style profiling than normal.

Statistics prove otherwise, don't they? How many victims of firearms are there each year? How many firearm incidents? How many firearms? How many firearm owners? What percentage of firearm owners are involved in these incidents? There's government stats for most of this, not some obscure blog.

I assert the vast majority of gun owners in the US have broken the law at least once in their lives, that makes them criminals and irresponsible gun owners. That makes your statement false.

I assert that every citizen in the usa has broken a law one time

A study of persons arrested for a wide range of crimes showed that a higher percentage of arrestees than regular citizens own firearms.

Say what? You all been in denial, saying that private party and non-FFL dealer transfers are not the problem.

And gun nutters don't seem to have a problem that. As a matter of fact, they want to make sure more criminals can have more guns.

Of course if your average person breaks a law a day thats a sign you have too many laws on the books.

Is that the case here as well? Just too may laws?

1 in 3. It's because of racial profiling though. No other reason.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, one in three black men can expect to go to prison in their lifetime. Individuals of color have a disproportionate number of encounters with law enforcement, indicating that racial profiling continues to be a problem.

You know, you can't have it both ways.

Speeding is pretty straight forward and we still do it. A combination of "I won't be caught, its not that big a deal, I'm in a hurry, and its just a ticket"

Speeding is hard to enforce on a large scale. It's like trying to get rid of illegal immigrants.

It is but they still do it everyday. There are levels of success though. I can tell you I do not speed through Ohio. No sir. There's cops every couple miles just waiting on I-65. So I guess, for me, when likely hood of getting away with it goes down, so does the likely hood of me speeding. Of course speeding for me is not typically a crime of passion so I tend to remain in control of my reasoning faculties.
