AOS status on uscis website

So last night i got the confirmation text/email that they received my applications for AOS/EAD/AP.

I checked the USCIS website and the EAD and AP application are both in initial review.

However my AOS application is still in acceptance and here is what it says:

Acceptance

On July 30, 2013, your fingerprint fee was accepted and we have mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. Your case is being processed at our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During the acceptance step USCIS reviews newly received applications and petitions to ensure that they are properly filed (i.e. signed by the applicant, appropriate fees, etc.) USCIS issues a receipt number for the application or petition, and sends a receipt notice to the applicant or petitioner.

Applications and petitions that are not properly filed are rejected with an explanation of why the application is rejected and the corrective action needed. Rejected applications or petitions do not retain their filing date.

The acceptance step is typically completed within 2 business days of when the application is received. With mail time it may take several weeks for you to get the receipt or rejection notice in the mail. If you do not receive your notice within 30 days of mailing your application, please contact our national customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

When is it going to move to initial review? Is it after they cash the check?

Also my three application have an MSC receipt number does that mean that all three applications will be processed by NBC? I thought EAD and AP were processed at chicago office.

Lolla, the same thing happens to me... It is to early to worry, they won't do anything for you until you pass their deadline... which is 6 months minimum...

Oh ok. I wasn't worrying i was just wondering why my case status was not going to initial review like it did for the K1... I found it weird that it stays on acceptance. But i guess that's what they do with most cases and it won't move until approval/RFE or interview if i have one.

It looks like the average waiting for AOS without an interview is about 10 months so unless i have an interview (which is apparently one chance out of 2) i am not expecting to see any activity on my case for a long time....

Btw did you get that issue with your EAD/AP figured out or solved?

Unfortunately no....

They told me it had been on someone's desk for a week when I went to the Infopass... And that they couldn't do anything before it had been on someone desk for a month. I have 2 more weeks to wait... woudhou

As others have said, don't put too much stock in the online status system. My wife filed in January and our case still doesn't even show up on the USCIS site. I know it's proceeding though because the biometrics came to pass, and she received EAD/AP back in March. We'll just continue waiting.

Is there a reason why it doesn't go to initial review?

Or do they change it after they decide if we will have an interview or not or maybe after the biometrics are taken?

I know uscis case status is far from being reliable but this is confusing here.

Ours has been in "acceptance" since April 2. The only changes since then were with EAD/AP. It's just unreliable. At best, the site serves as delivery confirmation. It generally takes so many months for an AOS approval anyway so who knows when they are actually reviewing the case? As long as we know they have it, the best thing we can do is wait out the processing time. Mine being just over 4 months in, I know have about 4 more months before there is any need to be concerned.
