We're so happy...the visa arrived today! They also indicate the petioner's name on it, which is pretty cool. To think that a year ago we couldn't even get a tourist visa! Next stop, POE on February 5.

Continuing good luck to everyone!

Congratulations! :)

My interview date has just been waived... so as soon as my requirements are in order I could go to the embassy for my interview...

I'll be having my medical this Jan 27, I hope everything will be alright...

I need help on this... my NBI notation says "No Derogatory Record," is this acceptable? or do I still need to get an official letter from NBI explaining this...

congrats. worried about the medical assessment? It's a no brainer. You just show up and they will inject you with immunizations you've never even heard of. They will ask you a few questions and poke an prod you. Everything will be alright. You just need the NBI clearance form that they give to you. If it says no derogatory record then you are all good....no further explanation required.

what do you mean for your interview date has just been waived?

for medical exams no worries for that except if they trace a problem on your chest xray.

Thanks guys and to you too! My fiancé said he had very friendly officers at the embassy and they seemed excited about our being a same-sex couple.

Something to think about......for those planning their marriages near the end of the expiration of thier fiance's/finacee's visa.....be aware of processing times for your area. California requires a wait of 3-4 weeks after the ceremony before the marriage license is available. That puts us near the very end of the fiance visa expiration date.....since the marriage license is required to move on to the next step it's sort of an important document. Plan well.

Hi....yes the CFO is still a requirement. From my understanding, they won't allow you to depart without it. My partner went. saind he had a good time. There were two guys in the group. It was the last thing required before the flight. Good luck guys.

Hi! Is that the one where you convert a date to some alternative calendar then use those numbers to get an estimate of the courier delivery of the files to the US Embassy? That's still mostly guesswork, correct?
