2 weeks mark our case is not yet received by NVC, per DOS. sighs....

We sympathize, we've been waiting three weeks. Yesterday, DOS said "It's too soon, you must wait 4-8 weeks." She was nice about it, but definitely not the news we wanted to hear. I've read the average wait is now about 5 weeks to get to NVC. Hang in there!

We have our interview tomorrow and I can't believe we've already come this far! Can't describe how exciting and nerve-wracking it is, but I will be so glad to finally have this process behind us.

Hang in there guys & girls - I'm so happy to see more approvals coming through. It's just a matter of being patient and soon everything will get moving. I waited 2 weeks before calling NVC to get my case number, and once I had it - everything moved extremely fast after that.

Wishing you all good luck with your cases! :D

Thanks for the support! :)

Unfortunately we do not have the visa just yet :(

Apparently the birth certificate my fiancee had with her wasn't the correct one or something. She said everything else went well, but we need to get the correct version and bring it back to the embassy before they can issue anything.

I'm not sure if we are approved or not - and its just waiting on the correct document (thats what it sounds like), or if they will be having us do a second interview or something. They didn't schedule any sort of second interview, just said to bring the document by sometime next week. unsure.png

congrats everyone... I was out of the country and a bit disconnected from everything trying to enjoy time with my fiancé.... haha... our case has not left the USCIS yet, at least according to their website... does anyone know if they update the case status in the system for all cases? or sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not.... I see that the post activity section says something like "this case has been shipped to the NVC for further processing".... to be honest, I have not wanted to call the NVC yet... haha... I do not want to hear the please wait up to four weeks haha... it has been almost two weeks since my approval.... I am so excited though....

Just want to update everyone on where we are, as we do seem to be ahead of everyone else!

Last I wrote, we'd gone to the Consulate in Naples, had our interview, and gotten approved. We got the passport with the visa and the big packet to bring to the US back via DHL the day after the interview! Quick service.

On December 3 we left Italy and traveled together to the US. POE was San Francisco.

We went up to the "US Citizens" side of the customs line at the direction of one of the CBP officers. We went up to the counter together. I stated "I'm a US citizen, and this is my fiancee. He's entering the US on a K1 visa." His reaction was a dumbfounded "woah!" and it took him a second to recover.

But after that, he was extremely courteous and professional -- friendly even! He welcomed my fiance to the US and said "the hardest part is over now." He did remind us we have 90 days to get married. He also said that we were his first same-sex K1 to enter. I don't think he meant all of SFO -- just him personally.

That's it, I think. Just wanted to update that it was smooth sailing on entry with the visa. I'm sure some of you are a bit anxious about that.

Did they take you to an interview room or was it all handled in the line? When I was in MIA last time I asked about it and the officer said we would have to go to an interview room. Just curious. Congratulations guys. You are on your way.
