Hi I need some help.

My interview was on Nov 19th. Still no news. I was trying to make an info pass but I wasn't able - it says that there are no appointments available.

Anyone has any ideas? I am basically trying to find out if my security check was cleared. Today i went to the county office to see if my record is clean and i only got one traffic ticket that i've paid and did school. Also got a DMV record showing pretty much nothing on my record. So i am getting kind of frustrated.

They've already messed up our plans for the holiday but it is very stressfull to wait.

Thanks;)

Could you get an info pass at the Chula Vista office? When I was looking at appointments a while ago, Chula Vista was pretty open but san diego wasn't.

Hey All,

Just wanted to give you an update. On Thursday, the day after my interview, I received notification that they've ordered production of my card.

Thank you all for posting your experiences, they were of much help and good luck to the rest of you.

Yaadie,

First of all, Congrats on your interview. My family was interviewed at the 2nd office on your right when you enter the door by an OLD lady (hope the same on one of the lady at your interview). She was pleasant but so confused on what she is doing mixing my wife's and daughter's paper and etc, etc. But she only asked us the Yes/No questions and verified the signatures, etc. She didn't approve our case..YET as I 130 receipt is still pending (I thought of getting an Infopass sooner). I hope your case will be approved as it needs only some admin work. Good luck and keep me posted.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I hope you hear something soon. Just give it another week or so then you can consider doing the infopass. I know you live far away so that's kind of a bust if you have to come all this way and get nothing.

We had our AOS interview today in Tampa. Here is my experience:

We arrived about 20 minutes before the scheduled interview and after going through security and getting a number we waited for about an hour before being called.

Our IO was a man in his 40s who was neither friendly nor unfriendly, I would say professional, neutral and somewhat business like (best description I can come up with). We were sworn in to tell the truth and nothing but the truth and took a seat. He asked and verified some basics like names, dates of birth, parent's names, current address, employment and signatures on forms.

Has asked for my passport, I-94, EAD and originals of the marriage license and birth certificates.

Then he leaned back in his chair and said “tell me your story, how and when you met and for how long you've been together” We told him about our history together and he sometimes interrupted to ask a question for clarification.

He went through the mandatory yes and no questions (communist, terrorist, prostitution etc.).

I brought a folder of additional evidence with me, including some photos, but he said that he didn't need to look at anything else. (I have to admit that I was a little disappointed, because I had everything so well and neatly organized, it took me a lot of time to put the whole thing together)

He explained to us how to remove the conditions before the 2 years are up and asked us to sign the form acknowledging that we understand. He also said that starting today in 3 years I can be naturalized but that I can apply before the 3 years are up (if I want to).

At this point we were a little confused, because he actually hadn't said anything about me being approved, so we asked him if this means that the application is approved and he said “ Yes, as of today you are a permanent resident of the United States” and congratulated me with a handshake. He gave me a paper that says that I was a approved as a permanent resident and he said if anyone should stop me or ask for proof of status between now and when I get my card in the mail I should show them this paper. He said that I should receive the card within the next 10 days or so.

A few minutes after leaving the office I received a text and email notification that my card production has been ordered.

The whole interview took maybe 15 to 20 minutes (at the most). I was so nervous during the last few days and right before the interview, but it turned out to be much easier than I thought or even expected. Now I just have to wait for my card to arrive.

Also, I would also like to thank everyone on VJ. Without this site we would have never been able to do this on our own. And best of luck to everyone else.

Thank you smile.png I hope you get your interview date soon. Have you tried calling and asking as to why it is taking so long, because we submitted our applications around the same time and to be honest with you the office in Tampa was not busy when we were there, it was a big empty waiting room (well more like a hall) with maybe 5 couples waiting.
