Just a note that we had our interview last Tuesday, November 26 in NYC. We were in and out of there in about 30 minutes and we were approved. No stamp given, but we were told to expect the card in the mail in two weeks. Questions were very general and they took a few of our photos for their records, so I wouldn't bring anything irreplacable.

Couldn't have done it without this website, thanks everyone!

Hi everyone! smile.png

I filed my applications on August 16th and we had our interview today at 7.30 am (ugh way too early for me dead.gif )! Took us around 3.5 months to get the interview date so for everyone else still waiting please be patient!

We got there 15 mintues earlier than our appointment and had to still wait around an hour ClockWatch2.gif before we got called by an IO.

I am so so so happy that our IO was really nice and she actually did her job thoroughly, she had already reviewed our case before hand and said that we were pretty much approved before even sitting us down. I brought with me a fat stack of copies of everything we had sent in and extra evidence but she didn't want to look at any of it because she said we did such a good job with our original package (thank you VJ, I LOVE YOU! so if you guys did everything right in the application there's nothing to worry about!), she didn't even ask us for any form of ID (we brougth driver license, passport, birth certificate and the whole shebang...).

She swore us in and then just proceeded to asked us how we met, if I have met his parents before, if he have met my parents, asked me for the address where we live together and asked me the standard terroist/crime questions and then asked my husband what our date of marriage was, that's it! Took 5 minutes...

We had a PROBLEM though! the civil surgeon we went to see had forgotten to check ONE little box on my medical form so she couldn't approve us on the spot after all crying.gif ! She gave us and option to go get the form fixed and come back and hand it in to the check-in desk or to wait for RFE which might delay the process up to a month...

Of course we opted to go get it fixed today even if the drive to and from the place was 2 hours both ways. Damn those civil surgeons you pay them hundred of dollars and they mess you up like that!ranting33va.gif

Anyway I'm so excited I just wanted to share this with you guys, sorry for the long post. Now I can just pray that everything is okay and that she got my new corrected medical form and didn't forget to approve us.. mellow.png the stress is killing me, double stress because I have a midterm tomorrow and I can't stop worrying about this...sleep.png

Hey All,

My husband and I had our interview today at the Jacksonville, FL office. The experience was an interesting one to say the least.

We got there at 8am as our interview was at 8:15am. We did not get called in until approximately 9:15am. When we got into the room there were two ladies in the room and they told us before we sat down they needed to swear us in. One of the ladies had a very stern face, like she was all about business. The other seemed very pleasant. Anyhow, they swore us in and we sat down. The stern-faced lady proceeded to ask me what documents we brought in. I showed her a folder that contained our joint bank statement, lease, renter's insurance, health insurance, a few photos, etc. She looked at it then she asked if we had photos from the wedding. We only had two photos from that day as it was a civil ceremony and we didn't do anything fancy. After looking through the folder she said "i'm going to ask you to wait in the lobby, I want to ask you questions separately." The other lady then escorted me back to the lobby and my husband stayed back. They questioned my husband (who is an American citizen) for approximately 45 minutes. Unfortunately, my husband is not one for recalling events so he could barely remember what was being asked, but he basically said they asked him about his previous marriage, asked him about my family, places we lived, when he got robbed (I guess the found this out from the background check), etc. After they were done with my husband, the stern-faced lady came to get me from the lobby. For another 25 minutes or so she asked me questions ranging from whether I knew my husband's ex-wife, to all the places we lived together to how my parents were able to financially support me while I on my F-1 visa since I was from a third world country. I was a little offended and annoyed by some of the questions but I kept my cool.

The whole time the stern-faced lady asked me the questions, the pleasant face lady sat there and listened. After the stern-faced lady was done with her interrogation, both women stepped outside the room for about 3 minutes and when they returned my husband was with them. The pleasant-faced lady then took over the interview and said she was going to go over the application with me. She then asked me the yes/no questions from the I-485 application and she took all the supporting documents we brought and handed the folder back to me. (FYI, they took my i-94 and passport earlier in the interview). After she was done, she asked me to confirm my signature on one of the apps and then she said she was going to do some administrative work on my application. She said if she needed anything else, she would send me a letter in the mail and I can just mail it back to her. She then said "you should expect your card in the mail in about 20 days." They both then thanked us for coming and they walked us out.

With all of that said, I have no idea if we were approved or not. I did not get any text or email and my status has not changed online. So I guess right now, I am just waiting.ClockWatch2.gif

Based on this comment it seems you are approved. Our IO actually said we were approved but I still waited for the notification before I really believed it. :) It took a full day to get the email, but all's well that ends well. I bet you'll be in the same position soon. Good luck (and Congratulations)!

Yaadie,

First of all, Congrats on your interview. My family was interviewed at the 2nd office on your right when you enter the door by an OLD lady (hope the same on one of the lady at your interview). She was pleasant but so confused on what she is doing mixing my wife's and daughter's paper and etc, etc. But she only asked us the Yes/No questions and verified the signatures, etc. She didn't approve our case..YET as I 130 receipt is still pending (I thought of getting an Infopass sooner). I hope your case will be approved as it needs only some admin work. Good luck and keep me posted.
