Hi I only sent I 485 and I 130. I did not do I 765 and I 131. This is my question will I still get an EAD? Also wat if I need to travel do I hav to apply for I 131. By the way my interview date is nov 10 .

Received combo EAD/AP card yesterday in the USPS mail. Now that the US government is back to work, we will head down to the Social Security office tomorrow. I need to do a little online research now for the process to obtain a social security card. We still haven't received the interview date. I was hoping to buy the ticket for my husband to spend December with his family in Costa Rica, but I'm not sure he will have his Green Card by the time he leaves, and I shouldn't assume that it will be approved. Our lawyer has told us that since my husband overstayed his visa, he could have problems reentering the US without his Green Card. The AP is fine for leaving the country but doesn't guarantee reentry if someone is out of status and without the Green Card in hand.

Its easy fill in the application form and take your passport and EAD card and marriage licence. :)

No you will have to wait for one in the mail

They do give you a letter that says you have applied for one. My husband got one when he applied for his SSN while on his F-1. Its something you can show an employer to get the job process started.

No, you won't get EAD, because you should send I 765 and I 131 to get it.

You will get your Green Card and you can travel and work with it.

I have been in the Testing & Interview stage for almost 3 weeks. A couple of September applicants have gotten their interview letter already but their online status never changed. Is it possible to call the hotline to ask them if a letter has been sent to me? Would they be able to answer that? My mailman is not very reliable and I am concerned that the letter might have been lost. I know, I am in Orlando, which is still one of the busiest field offices in the country (unfortunately) so it might take a long time to be scheduled. Thank you in advance.

Please be patient. They will let you know once the date is scheduled. Mine was also same and got the notification with a interview date. Also the status won't change until you finish your interview.

Why do you need your employment authorisation document to apply for a social security number? Applying with a K-1 Visa, you should of gotten your number within 10 days of arriving in the country.

My husband and I are on the same boat. Still waiting for the interview notification. All we can do is be patient and wait.
