Another same-sex binational couple to file in August.

We did it all paperwork by ourselves, with the undeniably huge help of visajourney.com and all people posting here. For that we say Thank you guys.

As you can imagine, past month has been a stressfull one, trying to get all the needed paperwork in order. Now the wait begins...

I also received the Biometrics notice last evening and for me also it is in the last week of August. For me it is the Oakland center.

But I am not going for a walk-in. Will go on the scheduled date :)

Which center did you visit for your Biometrics?

I am grateful that they let me do the walk-in as I will be in San Francisco on the date of my biometrics!

I did a walk-in in the Fairfax center here in LA. There was another person there who was doing a walk-in. It was really smooth and the staff was very courteous. I got there at 8am and the guard asked me to wait till the people who had appointments were registered. I was done with the biometrics and got out of the center at 8:45 which I think was pretty quick :)

Hello,

I filed concurrently for I-130 and I-485 on August 1st. I have received my receipt notices and AP/EAD notices. When I check the status on uscis website for I-130 and I-485 it just shows me 4 steps...acceptance, initial review, decison and card production? Is this normal? Are others able to see other steps such as RFE, interview, etc ?

p.s. my i-130 is currently showing initial review and I-485 accepted

:) Told ya today was going to be a good day. Just got the biometric appointment letter with a date of Aug 28th. Unfortunately it is a day that we cannot do, so I will try a walk-in appointment next week. Wish us luck.

My spouse completed an early walk-in for the biometrics today. His original ASC Appointment Notice was dated 8/12 (notice date), was received in the mail on 8/16, and the date of the appointment was originally scheduled for 8/29. Upon arrival this morning, they asked why he wanted to change the date: as a student, he didn't want to miss classes on 8/29. After waiting an hour, they took his digital fingerprints and picture, wrote some notes on his ASC Appointment Notice form (updating the appointment date and adding a dated processing stamp), and wrote his new A# (Alien Number) on his F-1 visa in his passport.

We read that our appointment center didn't allow walk-ins. I guess it is always hit-or-miss because the walk-in was a success.

Good luck to everyone. The waiting continues.
