Green Cards: Most employees working for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will stay on the job, which means applications for U.S. green cards, or legal permanent residency, should continue as usual. USCIS is funded primarily from fees people pay for immigration services and benefits, which means its employees are not dependent on Congressionally-approved appropriations bills.

One of the best ways to wake up in the morning is getting a text message from USCIS that your case has been updated. My interview has been set for November 7. Thank you Lord! Hahaha so much for being a worry wart yesterday about the gov't. shutdown. So yeah, we are moving ahead! :) Good luck to us all!

Hi all,

I'm new here but have been following this thread for a few weeks now. I'm adjusting from TN (Canadian citizen), and have been married with my American for 3 years now. We are a same-sex couple who celebrated the repeal of section 3 of DOMA last June! :)

Iam54, I have a very similar timeline as yours. I'm living in NYC and filled in Chicago. However at the bottom of the letters we got, it says the office is the National Benefits Center in Lee's Summit, MO.

Here is my timeline so far:

08/16/2013 - USCIS received my application

The reason I asked, is because on the September filers there are a couple of people that got their cases change to "Testing and Interview" before their scheduled biometrics.

I will have to wait after October 3rd then.

2013-11-07 (Day 76) 2nd Text and email @11.30am - green card in production

2013-11-09 (Day 78) Welcome letter received - WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

2013-11-12 (Day 81) - Received text and email - Green card sent @1.15pm

2013-11-12 (Day 81) @9pm received text and email - with UPS tracking number - For Green card

2013-11-15 (Day 84) Green card Received dancin5hr.gif

got email about my I-485 that my status has changed to Testing and Interview. Seems to be moving along..

We have very similar timelines so hopefully my status will change soon!! :)

August 21- AOS sent

August 23 - AOS delivered (according to USPS)

September 3 - Checks cashed

September 10 - Hard copy NOA ( Date of acceptance on letter 8/26)

September 23 - Biometrics appointment

October 2 - Status online changed to "testing and interview"

November 8 - Interview!
