The only thing worse than an anarchist with a gun, is more anarchists with guns getting together and agreeing to certain rules, and making sure everybody abides by those, because there is nothing worse than somebody that doesn't want to follow the rules and is armed with a gun.

So by that logic, the govt. should stop charging people with DWI and just call them a cab when they get pulled over. I mean they stopped the guy from driving drunk. They should also stop charging people that solicit prostitutes. No sex actually took place. They should also stop charging people that try to hire hit men. No one was killed. How about people that try to purchase 10 kilos of coke. I mean they were stopped, so no harm no foul, just let them walk.

Looks like rules to me. There is no rules in the oxymoron "natural order". Humans use tools and weapons. For humans, that is natural. Forcing people to stand behind a rope while watching two wrestlers implies order - not natural.

Every example you have involves a peace officer letting a criminal go, verses a background check denying a weapon.

Try a better argument because that was so weak.

If they're not going to prosecute people who do so, then what's the point of having laws that prescribe penalties for breaking them? Everyone seems to like the speeding analogy. What's the point of having speed limits, if the cops don't go anything when you get caught going over the speed limit, except maybe telling you you're not supposed to do that?

Right, the logical solution to this particular issue would be to enforce prosecution of felons circumventing the law.

Laws, like locks, keep honest people honest. I have to see the aftermath of break-ins from time to time, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to keep somebody out the wants to get in, for anymore than about ten seconds, if you ain't there. I also have a couple friends that are repossessers , and for 99% of their repossessions, nobody is the wiser until they are already down the road. For the remaining 1%, those can get a little scary.
