I love it how certain people can not have an intelligent debate about this subject. All they can do is resort to name calling, snide remarks, silly rhetorical questions etc. It seems like a real self-esteem issue. Their sole intent is to try and keep scoring these "goctha" points with personal attacks and (what he thinks) clever one liners. It's basically just trolling. I wonder what the motivation is? Would be a good subject for a first year psych student I think.

300 million guns or how efficient they are, has nothing to do with 2nd Amendment.

I told you even the adovocates of the stricter gun laws know that those are not going to do anything.

Yes, I've heard that argument before. Laws don't work, why have them? It's brilliant.

Again...then I'm insulting? Too funny

I just think this entire love affair with a device that shoots a projectile is a utter brainwashing by the manufacturers and their spokesmen the NRA. I'd be worried if I were you and it's not about them taking your weapons.

Believe me, I've been brain washed...but I volunteered for mine.

state the reason for registration of existing firearms.

I think the argument is that simply passing stricter laws doesn't do anything to solve the root issue. There's alot of evidence of this, especially pertaining to drug laws.

i've seen you make this arguement several times in the last few days. let me bring you back to reality. there are two reasons the government wants people to register their firearms. 1 is possible future taxation. 2 is possible future confiscation. anyone that says different is either stupid or lying.

How about protecting the owner of the firearm? With a national registry, any peace officer could run the serial number on any weapon he encounters, much like he does license plates and driver licenses, find out who the firearm belongs to, and take appropriate measures, if the person in possession of the firearm is not the one it is registered to.

Now, tell me, am I stupid, or lying?

I agree that they don't. Like I've said, guns are NOT the root issue. But to deny they're part of a problem doesn't make sense either.

You are for keep on making new laws though.

I'm for enforcing the current laws and going from there.

state the reason for registration of existing firearms.

No reason for existing. In fact that would cost far too much.

All future sales and background check by seller.

Thats against the law, police cannot run the serial number without a prob cause.

Thats have it should be just like they cannot enter your house with a warrant or a prob cause.

I agree with you 100%. The guns themselves are definitely part of the issue. I don't buy into the whole guns don't kill people, people kill people. To say that guns don't make it easier, is ignoring reality. I guess the tough part is trying to get people to stop killing each other. Seems life has so little value to alot of folks. Not sure how to solve that one. Maybe when people realize their own lives have value, they'll start valuing other peoples lives. Not sure.

Nobody was against enforcing the existing laws, not even NRA.

The problem was new laws that are put in places to restrict the size of magazine, univ check, registry, restrict a weapon based on how it looks etc.

I asked an actual question. Why is it that these fanatics are so afraid of the government?

Basically, they are planning the overthrow of the US government, and think Eric Holder doesn't know about it yet. So, they want to keep it on the hush-hush. You know, like drug dealers, or pimps, only they don't have the bling, or the tail.
